To promote its models from the neo-retro Sport Heritage range, Yamaha Motor Europe is increasing the number of "Yard Built" projects. The latest one proposed to designers to imagine their version of the XSR700. Four sketches were selected … and made !

"Using the Yamaha XSR700 as a basis, designers were able to design for the first time the machine of their dreams", recalls the Iwata firm, which has initiated multiple projects in recent years based on its SR400, XSR900, XJR1300, etc.

This year, "many creators took this opportunity to put down on paper an unprecedented XSR700 and hope to see it produced under the Yard Built label. The project illustrated all the imagination of fans of the brand: their passion and their experience are find in their proposals, believes Yam.

At the start of the year, Yamaha Motor France selected Benoît Goddet’s proposal for Barbara Custom Motocycles. Called "Disruptive", this machine inspired by the Flat Track machines recently took shape thanks to the preparers of the Bad Winners workshop.

In addition to this "great" French production, three other sketches have materialized: the "RD250 Tribute" designed by the Italian Ugo Coppola and prepared by Garage221, the "700GT" designed by the Portuguese Tony Manuel Oliveira Querios and shaped by Rua Machines, the sketched "Red Tail" of the Spaniards Alex and Claudio Monge, sculpted by Cafe Racer SSpirit (CRSS).

"The chosen preparers and their motorcycles were invited in September to the magnificent site of La Mayou, in a castle located in Biarrotte, France," explains Yamaha. A decor which "perfectly suited the atmosphere and the ambiance of this project: a classic environment for modern machines" … The proof in video.
