160 hp and state-of-the-art electronics

This new "super-maxi-trail" in turn continues the race for inflation by adopting the 1301cc V2, "deflated" from 180 to 160 hp. That is an increase of 10 horsepower compared to the 1195cc twin of the current one, already not stingy in mechanical sensations ! 

The Austrian engine manufacturers have notably developed for the Super Adventure a new cylinder head and a specific crankshaft – probably heavier – to improve the "roundness" of the twin cylinder and its revivals..

By the way, the Katoche adopts many electronic aids as standard, such as a combined ABS, cruise control, tire pressure indicator and semi-active WP suspensions, able to adjust their behavior in real time..

As an option, the 1290 Super Adventure can be fitted with a device allowing the engine torque to be reduced during downshifts that are too deep to avoid loss of rear wheel grip, like an anti-dribble clutch. In addition, the maxi-trail optionally features a hill start assistant, a system derived from the automobile that first appeared on a motorcycle last year on the .

Clearly positioned as a rival, the Katoche finally plays the escape card by adopting a 30-liter tank (23 on the standard), engine protection bars (but no shoe …), a saddle and heated grips, as well as an adjustable windshield "with one hand", according to the Austrians.

Too bad on the other hand that the rigid suitcases seen on the demonstration models are not part of the standard equipment on this high-end motorcycle … Questioned by MNC, KTM France is for the moment not able to communicate the price (€ 14,225 for the standard 1190 Adventure) and the availability of this 1290 Super Adventure.
