Released in, redesigned in 2014 (), the Diavel brilliantly embodies the "Power Cruiser" genre … and more! An exciting but demanding positioning, led to evolve towards a more docile compromise in 2016 according to stolen photos of the future model.

New frame, new look, new ergonomics

On these pictures unearthed by our British colleagues, this probable Diavel 2016 displays a redesigned tubular frame and a modified line. The tank is longer, the low exhausts are "compacted" in front of the 18-inch rear rim, the trim is – even – more basic and the headlight evokes that of the current Monster.

The rear shell appears similar to the current one, with its two rows of LED lights and its clever removable passenger handle. On the other hand, we immediately notice the new reinforced single-swingarm, around which takes place a final transmission by belt, instead of the current chain..

Typed custom, this type of transmission has the advantage of combining longevity and operating flexibility, without weighing down the bike too much (currently 234 kg).

Other modifications demonstrating a shift assumed towards the custom kind: the footrests (adjustable?) Are copiously advanced and the new handlebars wider and curved. Likewise, the caster angle seems to have opened considerably (28 ° on the current model).

At the mechanical level, the current twin-cylinder of 1,198 cc (162 hp and 130.5 Nm) could give way to the latest variable-valve version discovered on the .

Also powerful and slightly more torque (136 Nm on the Multi), this modern and innovative engine is less "rough" and above all more fuel efficient (5.1 to 6.6 l measured during our).

So many characteristics in accordance with the new direction that Ducati seems to want to give to its next generation of Diavel, probably to be discovered at the Milan show (Italy) from November 19 to 22. To be continued on MNC: stay connected !
