A semi-faired Super Duke R with a windshield: and why not ?

Several times surprised at the state of well advanced prototype, the 1290 Super Duke GT is an unexpected variation of the Super Duke R, the new benchmark of the category of "". On paper, the differences between this new road bike and the original are mainly focused on the front, via the grafting of a semi-fairing and a fork crown topped by a height-adjustable windshield..

The molybdenum-reinforced trellis frame looks identical to that of the roadster, as do qualitative peripherals like the one-piece Brembo radial calipers. The only big difference comes from the rear loop, extended and reinforced to decently accommodate a passenger and suitcases.

In the same vein, the silencer is lowered – to free up space for luggage -, while the saddle is redesigned. Finally, the handlebars are raised in order to straighten the position, probably also modified at the level of the footrests..

We also note the increase in the volume of the tank – from 18 to 24 liters, according to our information -, and the transfer of all the electronic equipment released on the, the Austrian maxi-trail whose engine also comes from the! Roadster, trail, road: Katoche declines in all sauces its monstrous V2 of 1301 cc, developing some 180 hp and 144 Nm of torque! Hot in front !

As on the Super Adventure, the original "GT" of the Austrian brand therefore wins the high-end semi-active WP suspensions – whose hydraulic laws vary in real time via the electronics – an ABS capable of adapting to curve constraints (), several driving modes, a ride-by-wire accelerator, or an anti-dribble clutch. 

No information has filtered out on the price and the precise technical characteristics of the Super Duke GT, in particular its mechanical performance. Has KTM slightly lowered the cavalry, as on the (from 180 to 160 hp), in favor of the couple and the approval? Answers at the end of November at the Milan motorcycle show (Italy): stay tuned !
