We know that in order to be able to enter a machine in a World Superbike, the manufacturers must respect strict rules. First of all, a road version must be marketed in Europe, the United States or Japan: this is the very essence of this world championship, which differs from MotoGP and its prototypes….

Then, according to article 1.2.1 a) i) of the 2015 WSBK regulations, the sale price of this motorcycle must not exceed € 40,000 (€ 33,000 for a Superstock 1000, € 20,000 for Supersport and Superstock 600), in order to limit the arms race.

Finally, production quotas are precisely established: 125 motorcycles must be built at the time of the inspection of FIM officials, 250 at the end of the year and 1000 at the end of the following year. Without it, impossible to compete…
