Visible through photos or many videos of "teasing" (read in particular) on its, this "mini Duke" is powered by a 4-stroke single cylinder "100% developed in Mattighofen" with 15 horsepower, liquid cooled and injection electronic. Its four valves are driven by a double overhead camshaft.

The frame takes the design of the tubular steel trellis type dear to the orange brand, the wheels are in "light metal" and the suspensions developed by WP. The single-disc braking device is clamped by a radial-mounted caliper (!) And actuated by a reinforced hose comes from Brembo.

The incisive lines are, as usual with KTM, signed by the design office Kiska and reveal in particular a very oscillating arm in "honeycomb" metal, an elongated front headlight and a small rear surmounted by passenger handles.

KTM announces availability for spring 2011 for this 125 Duke which would be marketed at a "reasonable price" and which will be able to receive many options such as psychedelic borderline paints, generous hand guards, "Wave" brake discs, covers for the headlight or a seat cowl.

True niche within a niche – even a Ducati Desmosedeci RR is approved for the road (read our)! -, the Austrian is of course intended for those who practice driving on circuits.

Taking full advantage of the experience of Orange race engineers in IDM (the German Superbike championship where KTM won the constructor title this season), this sportswoman in track gear is based on a "standard" RC8 R base that the Austrians have seriously used. boosted to go tease vibrator (read our).

It therefore uses the engine of the V-twin type at 75 ° of 1195 cc, the power of which is increased to 180 hp (170 hp on the current RC8 R) thanks to the use of a higher compression rate, a mapping of injection and an air filter typical of competition. Already thin and slender (182 kg without gasoline), the sporting muse of Mattighofen also takes the opportunity to lose a little weight through an Akrapovic silencer and many racing parts (saddle, fairings, tank, etc.).

On the chassis side, this RC8 R Track is based on the efficient tubular trellis frame, whose rear aluminum buckle is adjustable in height, and retains WP "Racing" suspensions (43 mm inverted fork at the front and fully adjustable rear monoshock), as well as its Brembo radial callipers.

Equipped with an original shifter, the KTM RC8 R will probably be available in early 2011 at a price probably close to € 25,000 (€ 20,590 for the standard RC8 R).

The performances and the lines – particular – are renewed as is, while the weight of 196 kg without gasoline climbs to 198 kg and that the price will probably be set at around 13,000 euros (12,390 € currently).
