Price of the new liquid-cooled Ducati Monster 1200

Live from Milan, the Ducati stand presents its phantasmagoric to the public for the first time alongside its second big novelty in 2014: the liquid-cooled Monster 1200.

As announced this summer, for the first time in his career which began in 1993 – with the exception of course of the late S4 versions.

As expected, this Monster 2014 is powered by the 1198.4 cc L-twin Testastretta 11 °, which is used in particular on the Multistrada and Diavel. On the roadster, this engine develops 135 hp and 118 Nm of torque in full and receives driving modes, as on the Multi. As standard, the Monster 1200 comes with ABS and traction control.

Side cycle part, the bike renews the usual tubular steel trellis frame dear to the brand, on which are fixed a fully adjustable inverted 43 mm fork and a mono shock absorber only adjustable in preload. The liquid Monster is braked at the front by Brembo monobloc 4-piston radial calipers, and at the rear by a single disc clamped by a two-piston caliper.

Ducati announces a market weight of 209 kg for this bike which has a variable height saddle (from 785 to 810 mm) and is also available in version S, with Ohlins front-rear suspensions and calipers nabbed at the Panigale.

In terms of design, this important Ducati novelty retains its characteristic silhouette, even if its volumes necessarily increase with the insertion of the large water-cooled twin in the shoehorn. !

This forced grafting does not have only happy effects, in particular at the level of the integration of the cooling hoses like gas plant on the left side … Similarly, as reported by MNC this summer, the radiator of the oil is installed very low in front of the front cylinder, which exposes it to the risk of collisions when going up or down a small sidewalk.

Prices are set at 13,490 euros for the standard Monster 1200 and 15,990 euros for its "S" version..
