News - Voxan unveils its Wattman electric motorcycle concept - Used VOXAN

As planned (read MNC of June 2, 2010: Venturi plans an electric Voxan in three years), Voxan today unveiled at the Paris Motorcycle Show an electric motorcycle concept imagined by designer Sacha Lakic, to whom we must in particular the Voxan Black Magic (read MNC of September 26, 2003: Voxan 1000 Black Magic, the rock bike).

As expected (read), Voxan today unveiled an electric motorcycle concept imagined by designer Sacha Lakic, to whom we owe in particular the Voxan Black Magic (read).

Called Wattman, this impressive concept which occupies the Voxan stand at the Porte de Versailles Motorcycle Show in Paris (Hall 8) until Sunday should result in "a prototype running within 18 to 20 months", assures Site Gildo Pallanca Pastor, who is considering marketing "in stride".

Built around an impressive aluminum frame-shell cut in the mass which integrates the battery (Lithium Ion) and the electronic components, at the back of which is housed the engine, the machine, impressive by its look, the is also by its performance: "200 horses from 7500 to 10 500 revolutions", but above all a maximum torque of "200 Nm from 0 (zero) to 6000 revolutions" !

"The most powerful electric motorcycle in the world"

The Wattman would perform the 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and the 0 to 160 in 5.9 seconds, for a maximum speed estimated at 170 km / h and a range of "180 km following the standard NEDC cycle". Finally, the charging time of its battery, particularly ambitious, would be "less than 30 minutes (fast charge at 80%) on a combo socket 2".

Side cycle, if the front suspension remains relatively classic with an inverted fork of 43 mm, the rear is provided by a double swinging arm with double shock absorber, a device "unique in the world", underlines the designer Sacha Lakic (below ).

The set has a substantial weight of 350 kg with a length of 2350 mm, a height of 1015 mm, a width of 815 mm and a wheelbase of 1705 mm.

"The Black Magic set standards that we find today with the Wattman, and the emotional aspect is intact", summarizes Sacha Lakic: "with the Wattman, we bring the future back to the present and we want the motorcycle electric is rewarding for its pilot ".

And finally, "the object which is closest to this motorcycle is an Airbook", slices the father of the Black Magic: "Wattman is our vision of the future for Voxan but we are not announcing either price or quantity, because the idea is not to disappoint people ".

Soon a Voxan electric scooter

Impossible indeed to have "the slightest idea of the price, because everything will depend on the reception which will be reserved to him at the show", confirms Gildo Pallanca Pastor (below). But the Franco-Monegasque boss of Voxan and Venturi assures us that he wants "to do everything in France, including assembly in our factory in Sable-Sur-Sarthe, near Le Mans".

Voxan should soon put in place a network: "we will make contacts during this show and we already have requests in the Benelux and the United States", affirms Mr. Pallanca Pastor who also plans "other versions less efficient than this. Wattman, more linked to reality ".

So, soon a Voxan electric scooter? "Yes, I think Voxan will also do electric scooters", Gildo predicted when interviewed by Site, "but always remaining surprising" … To be continued on MNC: stay connected !
