Yamaha Motor France offers an FZ8 Red Line
The FZ8 seeks to catch the eye of French bikers with a special series: all dressed in black, the Yamaha roadster sports a transverse red line. Also equipped with the SP-R kit, it becomes to say the least rare !
The FZ8 seeks to make eye to the French bikers with a special series: all dressed in black, the Yamaha roadster sports a transverse red line. Also equipped with the SP-R kit, it becomes to say the least rare !
Unlike (also read our) and – and other models to be discovered in Milan in a month ?! -, the FZ8 will not move in 2012. Nothing more logical, since the Yamaha roadster arrived on the market only a year and a half ago..
Nevertheless, Yamaha Motor France is keen to revitalize the image of its model which should be "flagship" in France but is struggling to compete with the queen Z750 (read our latest) by offering it, as of this fall 2011, a new version called Red Line !
To do this well, Yamaha has previously equipped the FZ8 with the SP-R kit (Lazer silencer, Ohlins shock absorber, engine guard, FZ1 scoops, plate holder and protection pads are part of the equipment). Note also that at the release of this pack, an FZ8 SP-R was sold for € 8,899 (read).
Now, against € 8,499 (or € 500 more than the standard FZ8, but € 200 less than a Z750R), you will also have a set of red stickers! Not enough to lower its lap times a second per lap, that’s for sure, but the Yam ‘wins in "sex appeal", right? Especially since if we take the price of the FZ8 (7999 euros) and that of the SP-R kit alone (2078 euros), the customer benefit of the FZ8 Red Line is 1578 euros !
