KTM will not unveil any new 2019 at the Paris Motor Show

One month before the start of the Mondial de la Moto de Paris, Site reviews the troops present at Porte de Versailles from October 4 to 10. KTM France and its Husqvarna brand will exhibit around twenty motorcycles at the Paris show, but nothing new in 2019: the Orange brand will unveil all its new models at the EICMA in Milan (Italy). 

Site: Will KTM be officially present at the 2018 Paris motorcycle show, which this year has the particularity of being coupled with the Mondial de l’Automobile? In what form and with what means ?

Marie Gaucher, marketing, press relations and KTM France events department: Yes, we will be at the Paris Motor Show with a 204 m2 stand and twelve motorcycles for KTM (ten commercial road and off-road models + two exhibition competition motorcycles) and 104 m2 of stand with nine motorcycles for Husqvarna (eight commercial road and off-road models + a motorsport on display).

MNC: Do you plan to reveal "real" novelties there, knowing that the French meeting collides with Intermot from October 3 to 7 in Cologne (Germany) and that the very popular EICMA will open its doors in Milan (Italy ) barely a month later (November 6-11) ?

M. G .: We will unveil our new models at EICMA.

MNC: What events have you planned to attract Parisian visitors (meetings with the pilots, tests, competitions, etc.) ? 

M. G .: We have not planned any specific activities.

This is a hard blow for visitors and organizers of the Mondial Moto de la Porte de Versailles: and will not unveil any in Paris, the Orange brand preferring to focus on the Milan show. Among the new 2019 models expected are first the below, which the manufacturer had already announced that it would be presented in Italy.

Little consolation: visitors to the Cologne Motorcycle Show (Intermot) will not be better off in terms of new models … This choice may be surprising given the geographical proximity of the Austrian manufacturer to Germany, a very important market in Europe and also home of the great rival! Presenting something new would certainly have been appreciated by bikers from across the Rhine… 

For lack of new models to discover, French bikers will nevertheless be able to admire motorcycles from the current catalog and competition machines. Next door will also be exhibited Husqvarna motorcycles (property of KTM), certainly the Vitpilen 401 and 701 and Svartpilen 401 designed on the basis of the Duke 390 and Duke 690. Neo-retro motorcycles with an offbeat look, long seen on the catwalks before finally going into production last year.

The fact that KTM France has not planned any events at the Mondial de Paris may also disappoint some, especially those who hoped to meet the brand’s top pilots such as its many rally-raid, motocross and enduro champions. Or even, why not, Moto2 rider Miguel Oliveira, who will team up with Johann Zarco next year on the MotoGP Katoche !
