Peugeot Metropolis special 120 years with Dash Cam front and rear

To celebrate its anniversary, Peugeot Motocycles is marketing 120 copies of its Metropolis three-wheeled scooter in a special "120 years" series. Particularity: it is equipped with a "Dash Cam" camera at the front and at the rear, with a view to both "fun and security"… Explanations.

Peugeot Motocycles celebrates its 120th anniversary, making it "the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world", assures Costantino Sambuy. Admittedly, the DG "forgets" the years of non-production of motorcycles and the birth of Indian in the same year 1901, two years before Harley, but let’s not quibble: it is an eminently respectable age which, in addition to a change of name and a strong desire to relaunch in the motorcycle, allows him to unveil a special series for his Metropolis scooter. 

This Peugeot Metropolis "120 years", which will be built – in France, like all the other Metropolis – to 120 copies only, is "the only scooter equipped as standard with a Dash Cam front and rear", explains the Franco-Indian manufacturer by announcing a price of € 9,699 including VAT (100 euros more than the Allure and RS versions of the "normal" Metropolis).

"Fun and safe" camera

This on-board camera – already mandatory in Las Vegas taxis and heavily used in Russia) is integrated into the front and rear of the three-wheeler in an objective "both fun and safe", assures Peugeot, who quotes the possibility of "viewing photos of the beautiful places you have been through, filming your journeys and sharing moments of conviviality".

In the event of a glitch, "viewing photos and videos will allow you to find the common thread of events and defend your interests by restoring the accuracy of the facts", continues the manufacturer, because "in the face of the growing increase in incivility ( hit and run, dangerous behavior, etc.), this system also facilitates all forms of recourse ".

The 2019 Metropolis also adopt new colors: "Ultimate" red for the "Allure" version available "in 2019" (without further details) at a price of € 9,599 incl. Tax and "new sporty Mat Black livery with touches of red "for the RS version, also available" in 2019 "at a price of € 9,599 incl..
