Interview Julien Toniutti: the Tourist Trophy is the MotoGP of road racing

Julien Toniutti is one of the stars of the new motorcycle video game TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2. The former MNC rider and road rally champion explains how he became the fastest Frenchman in the Tourist Trophy and comes back on his experiences, virtual and very real ! Video interview.

Le Journal moto du Net took advantage of the presentation in Paris of the new video game (scheduled for release on March 19) to speak with an exceptional rider: Julien Toniutti, who was riding within the Site team ten years ago !

On the perilous "Snaefell Moutain Course", Julien never rolls toc for safety reasons. He nevertheless became in 2018 the fastest "Frenchie" in the TT with a lap of 18’09 during his last race there (Senior TT), ie a phenomenal average speed of 200.5 km / h !

The French Tourist Trophy expert

"The Tourist Trophy is THE race that allows you to string together 60 km of turns and curves at more than 200, 250 km / h and even more than 300 km / h on certain sections. It is the absolute dream of any biker", explains to "gamers" the consultant of (French studio which develops the game on consoles and PC).

"That is why TT is fascinating and exceptional to experience," Mister Toniu-TiTi can guarantee. "But the TT also has the reputation of being the most dangerous race in the world. With the game TT2, the idea is to reproduce all these sensations of speed, adrenaline, concentration and control but without any risk, while remaining comfortably seated on his sofa ".

Better: with this new game, Julien Toniutti hopes to offer the best possible training tool. Because like him and Davey Todd (the other consultant on TT2), many Tourist Trophy drivers learn by heart and actively the demanding Manx track on PlayStation, rather than passively on video !
