Suzuki also increases its 2009 prices

Logically, after Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki, Suzuki in turn unveils prices revised upwards for most of its models. However, the price of the new Gladius and the latest GSX-R 1000 are still unknown….

After SERT‘s sudden withdrawal from the endurance world championship for economic reasons (read), everything suggested that Suzuki would be forced to pass on to its customers the unfavorable monetary parity and the effects of a crisis that continues to rage in 2009…

No surprise therefore when reading the new price list from Suzuki France, valid from January 1 to March 31, 2009: apart from a few models like the Bandit 650 which remains at € 5,499 pending its re-styling (read) and the entire custom range Intrude which does not take a euro (the two-tone M1800 R even goes from € 14,299 to € 13,999!), most other machines are subject to an increase of € 100 to € 500.

Thus, the acclaimed Burgman 125 scooter goes from € 3,399 to € 3,499, while its 400 version will also require an additional € 100 (€ 5,799). The friendly GSR 600 roadster follows the same trend (€ 6,799), while the Bandit 1250 goes from € 7,749 to € 7,999. Bad surprise also on the side of the sparkling SV 650: from 5 499 €, this twin of medium displacement climbs to 5 999 € !

Could it be to better prepare the arrival of the surprising Gladius (read), whose final price is still not communicated? First elements of answer at the end of January after the test of the machine, but one can already imagine that the new Suzuki will not be able to decently exceed the 6,099 € of the Kawasaki Er-6N 2009 (read), nor even the 6,149 € of the last Yamaha XJ6 N Diversion (read)…

Finally, Suzuki sports cars each take € 200 (€ 10,499 for the GSX-R 600 and € 12,499 for the 750), while the price of the GSX-R 1000 has the good taste to remain stable at € 13,699, while waiting for the imminent arrival of his replacement (read).
