Nice, July 17, 2018. Should we really talk about the temperature or the traffic density around the Promenade des Anglais on which we are? The Forza 125 roster looks great. Like the bodies that are browned a few meters away, on the beach, or those of Beyonce‘s dancers who have come down to our hotel, this scooter is beautiful, muscular, chiseled! Oversized, almost. 

In detailing it yesterday, at the conference alongside his cousin Forza 300, I tried the game of seven mistakes … without finding any. The 125 is strictly identical to the 300, aesthetically at least. Cloning has long been successful, at Honda as at Yamaha.

We left for a walk in the direction of Juan-les-Pins. First observation, the suspensions do not sink below my 77 kg. Secondly, my 75 meter is enough just to put my feet flat on the ground while advancing to the lowest of the otherwise ideally designed saddle. The little ones will be penalized… 

However, the position of the arms is not demanding as the handlebars are relatively close to the saddle. The non-flat floor – in the center of which the tank is placed – offers two positions: flat or raised feet. In the second case, a rubber with good grip prevents the soles from slipping..

Observation: the engine is very quiet. Starts and resumes are smooth, with no downtime or overflow. We’re on a Honda! Between the sticky cars, the Forza isn’t as nimble as its PCX cousin. Cut out for the city and the road, it suffers or benefits – depending on the point of view – from a generous size.

The controls are smooth, the chassis balanced and the braking is progressive. By pressing hard, we discover it powerful, very powerful, even! It’s still jamming on the Prom ’. By turning off the engine, Idling Stop saves energy and nerves. If all those old stinking Diesel could do the same !

The dashboard that distills information to the envy forces you to take your eyes off the road to find happiness. And handling the modes requires attention. The windshield, which is kept low at low speed, does not obstruct the eye in any way. As soon as the road clears when arriving towards Saint-Laurent du Var, the Forza shows its willingness to pick up speed… 

The winding road – but too short for fans of bends – which circles Cap d’Antibes, highlights the neutrality of the Forza, which moves effortlessly towards the point of rope. More effective than demonstrative, the reminders are gradual, but never laborious. The suspensions that never fall apart suggest good behavior as a duo. Firm, they still erase small shocks without torturing the vertebrae.

Return via the motorway. The Forza easily climbs to 120 km / h odometer. It even touches the 130 km / h in full delirium at 10,500 rpm, a speed much higher than the 108 km / h announced by the technical sheet! At this pace, it feels good to wind up the now electrically adjustable windshield. Quick and smooth adjustment that offers particularly efficient protection.

The air flow is perfectly diverted above the jet helmet. A little more width would have better protected the shoulders, but Honda opted for aesthetics. The highway goes up, the engine does not weaken. He keeps up the pace where others would give up. Fortiche !

Verdict: Forza evolution !

Already available in dealerships, the new Forza 125 is aimed more than ever at users who daily travel 20 to 80 km in town and on expressways to get to work. There is no doubt that they will appreciate the final attentions given to them.

Remains its very high price (5099 €), close to that of a used city car! This substantial price for a 125 scooter is also 10 euros higher than that of its "best enemy" since the Piaggio X-10 stopped: the Yamaha X-Max.
