Directly developed from the D211 GP race tire (165 podiums in 25 Supersport and Superstock championships and three victories in the 2009 Tourist Trophy), the GP Racer D211 is positioned at the top of the sports range of the manufacturer Dunlop.

"We first wanted to design an unbeatable competition tire that we could then adapt to offer an equally powerful tire to our customers who occasionally drive on the circuit. We have succeeded in this bet", assures Sharon Antonaros, Director of Sales and of the motorcycle division’s marketing for Europe.

With no less than seven different rubber compositions (like the blades on disposable razors, the rubber bands keep multiplying on sport tires in order to reconcile efficiency and precision at any angle! ), the GP Racer D211 displays above all an extremely studied structure: "We obtained an excellent stability in a straight line and a reduction of the heating by superimposing on the nylon carcass, an aramid crown ply with spiral winding which preserves the same diameter at the tire. By modifying the angle of the belts with respect to the fold of the carcass, and with respect to each other, we can control the rigidity of the sidewalls and the tread ", specifies Emmanuel Robinet, Director of R&D Dunlop Moto and Motorsport.

This research to maintain the rigidity of the carcass has a specific goal: to allow this new motorcycle tire to operate at very low pressures on the circuit, guaranteeing additional grip when exiting a curve. Called NTEC, this technology makes it possible to increase the footprint of the tire on the ground thanks to a controlled deformation of the tire, without compromising its rigidity..

Dunlop is advancing and the GP Racer D211 rear pressure can drop from 1.9 kg when cold to 1.2 kg on the track. On the road, the pressure recommended by the manufacturer must nevertheless be respected: a precision that says a lot about the core target of this new ultra-sporty rubber compound. !

Available sizes and mixes

  • In the same vein, the Dunlop GP Racer D211 offers a new rear dimension: 200 / 55R17. "It will equip motorcycles with 180 hp / 1000 cc to better transfer the power from the engine to the track", indicates the manufacturer of the group Good Year.

To the endian, Dunlop finally declines this new killer of times in three different mixtures corresponding to racing strategy intended use on the circuit: the soft mix (S) designed for optimal performance over distances equivalent to 20-25 laps of the circuit, the medium mix (M) optimized for 35-40 laps and the endurance mix (E) for 65-70 turns.

The Dunlop GP Racer D211 will be fitted to all motorcycles participating in the Week-End Racing Cup 2010 (WERC) and will be available in slick versions (only for track use) or sculpted at a price close to the D209 GP Racer which it replaces (approximately 300 euros the train).
