Trail - JCO's last outing: Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 - The Super Tenere 1200 is finally revealed!

The first French Yamaha ambassador in 1966, Jean-Claude Olivier (JCO) left the Yamaha Motor France box after 45 seasons at the top. A fan of rally-raid, the man bowed out by unveiling the Super Tenere 1200: quite a symbol !

The Super Tenere 1200 is finally revealed !

Since the start of the year, the official minisite of the Super Tenere 1200 has sparingly listed the information: 1200 twin cylinder set at 270 °, electronically controlled accelerator, different engine maps, traction control, combined ABS braking, efficient protection, large tank and adjustable saddle in particular (read). But the look and technical data of the Super Tenere remained hopelessly unknown….

Meticulously orchestrated by the Blues (read), the launch of this main novelty for 2010 reached its peak on Wednesday evening in Paris, during the departure party of JCO.

It is Mr. Stephane "Dakar" Peterhansel himself who arrived on the podium at the controls of the new Super Tenere 1200: a motorcycle with an imposing size, with refined lines, blue in color – obviously – and of which we now know all the secrets.

All? No ! The availability date and the price are still resisting pressure from customers and the media … But we still know that the novelty will be "launched in Europe in 2010 as a special Adventure Edition series".

The pack for this launch model will include two saddlebags "aluminum type", a headlight protection, an aluminum belly pan and a" First Edition "sticker kit. Yamaha also specifies that in 2011, the pack will remain available as an option.
