The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has just published the provisional dates for the 2013 World Superbike (WSBK) and Supersport (WSSP) championship which should have 15 events, one more than in 2012.

Update of January 17, 2013

We will have to wait to see the pilots inaugurate the Indian event of the WSBK: scheduled for March 10, this unprecedented stage will finally take place at the end of the year, on November 17, still at the Buddh Circuit. !

"The race in India has been postponed in order to properly finalize the training of the marshals and the medical team", explains the FIM. "Representatives of the FIM will go there on January 19, 20 and 21 with the aim of proceed toapproval final of circuit and organize meetings about the organization ".

Also note that the Aragon event has been postponed by one week – it will be held on April 14 therefore – so as not to interfere with the opening of the MotoGP championship, on April 7 in Qatar..

For the fifth consecutive year, the season will begin in the southern hemisphere on February 24, 2013 on the superb circuit of Phillip Island, Australia. The second stage, however, will be brand new: the World Superbike caravan will stop on March 10 in India, on the Buddh Circuit. !

The following events are more classic: Aragon, Assen, Monza and Donington are on the program for spring 2013. The stop on the magnificent Portimao track is scheduled for June 9, but the Portuguese event – already in the hot seat this year – needs to be confirmed, as does the mysterious tenth test of June 23…

Update of March 8, 2013:

The "mysterious June 23 round" will finally take place on September 15 in Turkey, at the Intercity Istanbul Park. An unprecedented meeting for the WSBK, which will delight the triple champion Kenan Sofuoglu. In addition, the events of Silverstone and Portimao have been confirmed.

After a stop at Imola, we will return next summer to the Moscow Raceway (Russia), to Silverstone then to the Nurburgring. Fall will also be busy as Superbikes and Supersports will fly to Laguna Seca – instead of Miller Motor Sport for the past five years – for their September 29 races..

Update August 14, 2013:

The first Indian World Superbike event, scheduled for the end of the year on the Buddh Circuit, has! The Indian federation nevertheless continues to work to welcome the WSBK … in 2015 ?

The French event at Magny-Cours will be held on October 6, 2013, but the 2013 WSBK season will not end until two weeks later at the Jerez circuit in Spain, where the championship has never stopped in 26 years !
