The news is on the right track! And it’s a little – a lot, passionately, madly! – thanks to Sylvain Guintoli who, failing to have the opportunity to kick Rea, Sykes, Davies and Camier’s buttocks this year in World Superbike, went to challenge Haslam, Byrne, Ellison and Brookes on their own land !

Finally, the success came sooner than expected! Fourth at Silverstone at the beginning of September, the Suzuki rider again stood out on Sunday noon on the Assen circuit by taking the controls of the first BSB round, finishing one breath away from his first podium of the year.

Four hours later, the "Frenchie" took not one, but two additional stages, since he managed to get on the box, and all the way up! Starting cautiously from his remarkable fourth place on the grid, Guintoli gradually gained momentum and pushed his four opponents to their limits in a breathtaking final (see the video at the bottom of the article).

Our 2014 Superbike world champion thus became the tenth rider to win a British Superbike race this season (stronger than MotoGP last year!), But is above all the first "continental": so far, only English and Australians had imposed.

"This first victory means a lot. I felt good right away this weekend. We have improved the bike a lot in the last stages, including in the wet where we had struggled in the past. But in the dry , we really improved. We worked step by step, we also have a different swingarm now, and we were able to have two good races. I enjoyed them a lot: there was a lot of fights and the drivers were doing were diving under each other: there are certain types of maneuvers that I had never seen before today. But it was very clean and a lot of fun. We were not lucky to miss the podium in first round, but in second I felt really strong. I started off easy at first, just to try to save a little tire. Then we were able to attack and clinch the victory. We knew we had to develop the bike this time. year, but sometimes people want it all, right now. It was not likely to happen in a championship of this magnitude, but we are making progress and we are proving that the bike is improving..
