Site readers – who, as everyone knows, are a little more fortunate than the others – were already able to experience yesterday, almost live, the unfolding of the Mondial Superbike and Supersport races on the Jerez circuit (for latecomers, read, then).

Here are the declarations of the pilots who distinguished themselves on Sunday … Honors to the world champion !

Jonathan Rea, 4th (x 2):
"This is a great time in my career for me because I started at the age of six in motocross school, spent time on the circuits with my dad and grew up in a racing environment. , so I always dreamed of being world champion. So finding me here and becoming a world champion is amazing. I had to work a lot, like a relentless man, my family made sacrifices and devoted themselves completely, but above all, I could not have won this championship without Kawasaki. I want to thank my team manager Guim Roda, as well as Steve Guttridge from KME who really believed in me and gave me this opportunity".

"I don’t quite realize yet. Earlier on the track, when my mechanics were putting the number 1 sticker on the bike, it looked really weird, but I’m so happy and grateful. There have been a lot of ups and there have been downs. Times like this are even more special because of the challenges I have been through due to injuries, a broken wrist and a bad femur fracture.".

"Watching the fight between Colin Edwards and Troy Bayliss at the 2002 World Championship inspired me a lot, so much so that it became my dream. I thought then: "I want to do this". Also, I never doubted my ability, even in difficult times. So let’s hope that today we ourselves will inspire other young drivers, that it will inspire them to take the plunge, or that the young drivers who are already racing will never give up their dream. At the moment, I still have a hard time realizing, but I’m a world champion and I’m really proud of it".

Tom Sykes, 1st then 5th:
"Overall I’m quite satisfied because we had never won on this circuit. So if you consider the whole season, it’s pretty good. We struggled in the second run, possibly due to a poor tire choice. It was the same as in the first race, and I hadn’t already had a good feeling going forward. But when you win with such a gap on a circuit where you’ve never won before, it’s still good. I think if we had changed the front tire we would have had a whole different bike to cover the entire race distance".

"It’s great to be part of Kawasaki’s victory in the constructors’ championship. Obviously the majority of the points came from Jonathan, but I think over the years I have helped create an environment and a package for all riders to contribute to the first Kawasaki title.".

Chaz Davies, 2nd then 1st:
"What a race this second round! I thought it would be very difficult to win here today, but we did well not to change anything from race 1. The track conditions were very different and it went better. In the first run, I knew I would have a hard time in the first laps. I could keep up with Tom’s pace in the second half of the race, but the performance drop in his tires never happened. I’m very happy with the results we got today, of course, and it’s really important to have taken some big points at this stage of the championship. I know that the battle for second place in the general classification will be tight and I hope it will last until Qatar".

Jordi Torres, 12th then 2nd:
"I am very satisfied with the result of the second race. I really wanted to ride well here at home. The team worked perfectly and I gave 100% every time I entered the track. From about halfway through the race, I had to change my riding style a bit to deal with tire wear. It was very hard in the heat, but we worked on the settings during free practice taking this factor into account. In the first run, I started off the grid well but ended up in neutral on the first corner and went straight. I tried to get back up but just didn’t have the right feeling with the front brake and had to settle for a few points in the championship"

Michael van den Mark, 3rd then 13th:
"I had a few clutch problems all weekend and the start of the first race was not perfect. I managed to stay with the guys, although I lacked the grip at the start. When the pace dropped a bit, I was able to close the gap, but I had to wait before I could pass Leon (Haslam) and Jonathan (Rea). Tried to close the gap on Chaz (Davies) but the grip wasn’t there".

"The second race was a bit similar at the start and I closed the gap when the pace started to slow down. I had a good feeling coming up behind Torres and Haslam, I held back a bit because I saw that they were attacking really hard. Then I just lost the front in a slow turn and fell. I was able to get back on the bike and do some good lap times before the end of the race. Overall, I must be happy with my performance this weekend. We finally had a carefree weekend, which is really good for my motivation, and the podium is of course a great motivation for the whole team.".

Leon Haslam, 5th then 3rd:
"The conditions of the second race helped us. We worked to resolve the issues yesterday and we were successful. If I was sure I could win after FP3, this was no longer the case after the Superpole: given my position on the starting grid, I would have been satisfied with a podium. I managed to make two good starts and come back up in both races, but in the first run I was struggling on the exits of slow corners. We fixed this problem for the second round, but the podium was still not obvious because after 9 laps the tires had already started to deteriorate. A mistake was easy. I am happy with this podium. I hadn’t been there since Misano, and seeing two Aprilia is a well-deserved satisfaction for the team".

Sylvain Guintoli, 10th then 9th:
"This Sunday was difficult. To be honest, I thought we could do a little better than that, but we struggled too much. I was attacking really hard during the races, and maybe that wasn’t the best solution. I just lost a bit of my "mojo", I didn’t feel comfortable. The feeling was not good and the pace was not there, making this Sunday very difficult. We need to ask ourselves to put everything back on track. Hopefully Magny-Cours will be another story, it’s a track that I really like and I want to finish the season solidly so I’m going to reflect on what happened here, on the reasons for my slowness and figure out how to start again. on the right foot".

Randy de Puniet, 16th then retirement:
"The two races today were difficult for me. We fixed the braking problem this morning which was good but now I need time to adjust my riding style. In the first run, the brake was constant but I was not 100% comfortable with the bike, I rode the whole race with the guys who finished 13th, but unfortunately I finished 16th. During the second race, my bike stopped during the sighting lap, so I had to push it to the grid. It’s a new weekend to forget and I really hope to have better luck at Magny-Cours for my home race".

Christophe Ponsson, 21st then 15th:
