WSBK - Ducati stops with Alstare but signs Davies and Giugliano - Used DUCATI

Ducati and the Alstare team preferred to stop their collaboration at the end of this 2013 season. The Bologna manufacturer will count on Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano in 2014 and 2015 to lead their Panigale Superleggera to victory in the WSBK. Challenge !

For its first year at the highest level – after a year of warming up in Superstock 1000 – the 1199 Panigale was quite disappointing … So much so that Ducati and the Alstare team decided to stop their cooperation, which was supposed to continue in 2014 (read)…

Officially, the Reds evoke "the withdrawal of one of Alstare’s main partners, due to a difficult economic climate", to justify the decision of"Belgian team to revise its sports program downwards for next year".

Admittedly, the period is extremely hard for the World Superbike teams who are struggling to find – and keep! – sponsors. But in this case, it is above all the lack of performance of the bike and the status of red lantern (!) In the constructors’ championship that led Francis Batta to throw in the towel..

The charismatic team manager, who was delighted to find this Italian family after a sabbatical year, had to face the facts: "the 2013 season has been incredibly tough for us and, by not being able to guarantee a good posture for 2014, I prefer not to take risks which could compromise our ability to finish the season".

"I want to thank Ducati for trusting me and I wish them all the success they deserve", concludes Batta, in turn warmly congratulated and thanked by the director of the Superbike project at Ducati, Ernesto Marinelli..

"During these months spent together, we have appreciated the professionalism and expertise of all the members of Team Alstare and I hope to be able to work with them again in the future.", assures the big Italian boss."I would like to express my thanks, both personal and on behalf of the company, to Francis for the effort he has provided this year and throughout his career.".

"I am very sorry that an operation that had started so well (with the … then nothing, except one and one always in the rain, Editor’s note) ends earlier than expected without our being able to achieve our goals".

Despite this bitter failure leading not only to parting with Alstare, but also to – it sure would have been otherwise if successful! -, the Reds are still motivated.

As proof, the Borgo Panigale firm has just announced that Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano will run under his colors in World Superbike for the next two seasons (2014 and 2015). If all goes well … starting with the !

The two rising stars of the WSBK championship will indeed overlap the brand new version of the Bologna Superbike which will attempt to jointly take advantage of the more "Stock" regulations of the World Superbike and its "Super" version – – to win.

Chaz Davies, victim of another capitulation at the end of the 2013 season – who was also to continue to drive Marco Melandri,?! – will therefore take the handlebars of a third different bike in three years, after a promising debut on Aprilia RSV4 and a remarkable – and noticed! – confirmation on BMW S1000RR.

This new change should not however disturb the Welsh rider too much, used to changing his mount: just before joining the WSBK, "Chazie" had made the gloves in World Supersport on a Triumph Daytona 675 before perching in 2011 on a Yamaha R6, which he also had !

As he tweeted himself on Twitter, Davies was about to write a "new chapter"from an already busy career: Grand Prix 125 and 250, MotoGP, American Superbike, World Supersport, World Superbike … In this last discipline, its track record is seriously starting to grow.

In just two years, the n ° 19 – but he will undoubtedly recover "his" n ° 7 following the departure of Checa – has climbed on 10 podiums, including four times on the top step. The Knighton native has also set three fastest times in the race this year and completed 76 laps in the lead, twice as many as Guintoli himself. !

Alongside Chaz Davies for the next two seasons – "inch allah!" – will be Davide Giugliano: Superstock 1000 champion at the controls of the 1098R, the Roman pilot – – finished sixth in the 2013 WSBK championship riding a private RSV4, 79 points behind Davies fifth.

Casually, Ducati thus secures the services of the two best riders on the grid after Sykes, Laverty, Guintoli and Melandri! The "Superleggera" has an interest in running better than the 1199 Panigale R, otherwise the bright future of these two riders, but also that of Ducati, may darken !

After welcoming Ayrton Badovini last year, the Italians are reintegrating into their ranks an Italian driver full of promise. Giugliano turns 24 today – buon compleanno Davide! – and presents himself not only as the succession of Carlos Checa () but also as that of Max Biaggi…

the name of the Ducati structure and the exact composition of its team remain to be defined, but the Italian manufacturer assures that its two new recruits will be at work from this week, on October 30 and 31, on the circuit of Jerez. To follow naturally closely on Site: stay connected !
