Xavi Fores won the IDM 2014 title this weekend. Supported by Neukirchner and Lanzi, the Spaniard assured Ducati the constructor title in the penultimate round of the German Superbike championship. The three teammates will ride at Magny-Cours.

More and more swift in World Superbike in the hands of the talented Chaz Davies and the flamboyant Davide Giugliano, the 1199 Panigale R has masterfully imposed itself in German Superbike (IDM). This weekend again, on the occasion of the final of the German championship, Borgo Panigale’s missile exploded everything…

Xavi Fores then Lorenzo Lanzi – former Ducati official in the World Cup alongside Troy Bayliss, in particular – won the two SBK races on the Hockenheim circuit. Second in the second round, the Spanish rider was crowned German champion thanks to an impressive score: 318 points out of a maximum of 375 !

After a thunderous start to the season – three wins in a row! -, "Xavi went on to eight consecutive podiums (including three wins), gradually increasing his lead in the championship", recalls Ducati, quite proud of its n ° 12.

But the series did not stop: during the penultimate meeting (at the Lausitzring), Segnor Forès again climbed on the podium (2nd then 3rd), interchanging places with his teammate Max Neukirchner, him also well known to WSBK fans.

In doing so, the two top riders of the "brand new, handsome" 3C Racing team secured Borgo Panigale’s brand their first title in Germany. At the end of the last two rounds at Hockenheim, Ducati accumulated 571 points, against 414 for BMW second.

Third and then fourth in the final races this weekend, Max Neukirchner finished second in "his" championship with a total of 281 points, 8 more than Markus Reiterberger, author of a fine end of the season at the controls of his S1000RR (three wins in four races).

"This season has been amazing for me because I was competing in the IDM for the first time", underlines Xavi Fores."It was not easy, of course, but I managed to win many races (six, so two more than the local Max, Editor‘s note) and stand on every podium. It’s great for me, for the team and for Ducati to finally win this championship".

As a reward, the new champion and his two colleagues will take part in the French World Superbike event on October 5 at Magny-Cours. This will be the opportunity for them and their team to gauge the "real" level of their machine..

By way of comparison, the only 1199 Panigale R entered in the British Superbike Championship (BSB) is currently at a distant 13th place … It is however ridden by Jakub Smrz, a Czech rider who had made sparks in WSBK on the handlebars of the 1098 in particular.

While waiting for our full test of the new Yamaha MT-10 to follow on, MNC photographed and filmed this novelty on the smartphone throughout our day of driving in Spain: first impressions and the song of the 4-legged Crossplane rigging on video . Frankly, we do not assure a max to the Journal moto du Net? 😉
