Loris Baz places second in Superbike testing in Jerez

Fourth time of the first day of Superbike tests in Jerez on his new BMW Althea, Loris Baz grabbed the second fastest time on the second day, 7 tenths behind Tom Sykes and finished third in cumulative time. Tour of the circuit with Loris on board camera !

Decidedly very comfortable on his bike, the French rider set the second fastest time of the second day of private practice WorldSBK 2018 at the Jerez circuit (Spain).

With the fourth fastest time on the opening day, the former MotoGP rider confirmed with a lap of 1’40.468 and finished second, seven tenths behind Tom Sykes (1’39.692).

"I am rather delighted with these first laps of the wheel, even if there are a whole lot of parameters that you have to get used to again", rejoices Loris: "I managed to get into the rhythm quickly and I am pleasantly surprised by the chassis and the front of the bike. We had to work on the electronics, but we have made significant progress. I completed a lot of laps during these two days (169, Editor’s note). J finished with a simulation similar to the pace of the second race here a month ago. I’m still having some difficulties with new tires, but I’m still happy with the work done and the improvements we have made , especially with electronics. I can’t wait to get back on track during our next tests to continue to find the best feeling ".
