Predicted by Jonathan Rea and Jordi Torres during free practice for the 2015 World Superbike final in Qatar, Tom Sykes proved intractable in “his” Superpole exercise. The Ninja n ° 66 signs his 6th pole 2015, the 30th of his career…

As in Assen, Donington Park, Misano, Sepang and Jerez this year, "Major" Tom and his official Kawasaki ZX-10R flew to a new Superpole by completing the 5,380 meters of the international – and interstellar – Losail circuit in 1 ‘ 56.821.

The n ° 66 Kawa ‘therefore takes a slight advantage over his n ° 7 enemy, Chaz Davies, qualified in 4th place on the Qatari grid and second in the provisional classification with 383 points on the clock, against 367 for Tom. Leon Haslam with his 267 points cannot claim to reach the podium 2015…

At the top of the timesheets last night and fourth at the end of the third free practice session, Rea is beaten this evening by his teammate by less than two tenths of a second. Titled from the Jerez test and author since of a masterful double at Magny-Cours, the ruthless "JR" has in his sights the records of points registered in a WSBK season (522, Colin Edwards).

Excellent surprise of the second phase of the Superpole (SP2), Xavi Fores will hoist his Ducati n ° 112 tomorrow – the n ° 34 of convalescent Davide Giugliano in fact! – on the first row of the grid. The German Superbike champion in 2014 takes advantage of his new freelance to put himself forward … and put Davies behind !

Led by "Chazie" and his factory Panigale, the second row of the Qatari grid will be completed Sunday evening by two other Italian machines: Aprilia RSV4 n ° 81 and 91. The fastest driver in free practice, Jordi Torres will run tomorrow after his first WSBK victory, Leon Haslam after his fifth.

In good shape since the start of the weekend, Randy de Puniet (Suzuki Crescent Voltcom) was ninth at the end of FP3, thus qualifying directly for SP2. Our national n ° 14 wins a place thanks to the Superpole and misses the 7th of his teammate Alex Lowes by six thousandths of a second (!).

Author of an impressive end to the season, Michael van den Mark secures the last place on the third row despite a huge heat two minutes from the end of SP2. Second fastest time in free practice, the young Honda rider will try to take over the best tomorrow in the race.

Leandro Mercado (Ducati Barni), Matteo Baiocco (victim of a nasty fall in the beautiful ugly middle of the hyper-fast triple straight on the handlebars of his Ducati Althea) and the 2014 Evo champion David Salom (Kawasaki Perdercini).

Slowed down on the first evening by several technical glitches on his Fireblade, Sylvain Guintoli had to take part in the first Superpole session … But SP1 started badly for him: the 2014 world champion returned to the pits without completing his first lap and stayed for 10 minutes in his box !

Set off again while his little comrades launched their second assault, Sylvain completed a single fast lap which lifted him to second place, but the Frenchie was finally beaten by Leandro Mercado … "Guinters" must therefore be satisfied with the 13th place on the grid.

Behind our world “Number One” and his CBR1000RR will be Niccolo Canepa on his Panigale n ° 59 (Ducati Althea) and Ayrton Badovini on his S1000RR n ° 86 (BMW Italia). Two pilots as experienced as they are fighters whom Guintoli will have to get rid of quickly during the two starts tomorrow !

Leading SP1 at the end of the first half of SP1, Leon Camier finally set the sixth fastest time and has to settle for 16th place on the grid. Posted in the wake of his teammate Salom throughout SP1, Christophe Ponsson (Kawasaki Pedercini) will try to take the wheel of the factory MV Agusta in the race tomorrow.

Roman Ramos will complete the sixth row of the Qatari grid with his own Ninja ZX-10R prepared by the Go Eleven team. Dropped against the clock in SP1, Gianluca Vizziello (Kawasaki Grillini) and Gabor Rizmayer (BMW Toth) will start from 19th and 20th places.

Discarded from the last Superpole of the year after the first three free practice sessions, Phillis and Toth will start from the back of the grid tomorrow night. The start of the first Superbike race is scheduled for 6 p.m.: stay tuned !
