WSBK - Team Liberty Racing retaliates and shoots Sylvain Guintoli -

The World Superbike Liberty Racing team sees red: after having mentioned “ surprise ” resignations to justify the absence of Guintoli on the track this weekend in Brno, the Czech team blames its French driver for his lack of result. Really ?!

Yesterday at 5 pm, the Liberty Racing team sent a press release to the press warning that Sylvain Guintoli would not be racing in Brno this weekend. The reason ? "An irremediable rupture born of a misunderstanding between the mechanics and management", assured the Czech team.

"In fact, several members of the technical team decided not to participate in the Czech Republic event, nor the rest of the season.", was content to declare the staff, taking care not to mention the reason for such discontent…

"This defection unfortunately affects the French driver Sylvain Guintoli who, without technical support, will not take part in the races in Brno this weekend.", briefly concluded the" private "Ducati team … of its best rider !

Mysteriously stumbled upon Site spam – amazing, right ?! -, this email was followed in the evening by a second particularly aggressive salvo against our compatriot: in the meantime, Sylvain had posted his own press release on Twitter (read)…

"In view of what has happened in recent hours, the Liberty Racing team wishes to clarify its position and the factors that led to the events that ended the collaboration with the driver Sylvain Guintoli", dictates the big boss Mario Bertuccio.

1 victory, 2 podiums and 1 pole … and that’s it ?!

"First of all, the poor results of the pilot, which are certainly inappropriate in relation to the massive investments, technical equipment and human resources made available to him, and the relative lack of media coverage for the title sponsor, caused a significant reduction in the investments of this sponsor, as we have seen in the past", considers the Czech team.

In the general classification however, the n ° 50 appears in eighth place in front of his teammates Smrz and Berger (McCormick was absent too long to be taken into account). The Frenchie is even the second Ducati rider and above all, the first "private" rider, far ahead of Chaz Davies and his RSV4 (tenth at 32 points).

In terms of media coverage, the Frenchman nevertheless rose to the fore in Australia (with a first row in qualifying ‘and a third place in the race, read our), then in Italy (read) and finally in the Netherlands ( two podiums including one victory, read our).

But "oddly", these results do not seem to satisfy – after the fact! – the team managers, here is the end of the press release:

"It is important for the Liberty CZ group to rationalize its costs to ensure the continuity of its team, especially in this context of global crisis which has recently raised the level of the company’s alert.".

"The technical team has decided to adopt a radical position in this period of tension created by a misunderstanding with the administrative management of the group". However, despite its supposed" fierce "desire to clarify the situation, the team does not invoke any reason for dissatisfaction, on the one hand or on the other….

"A certain superficiality and lightness in the management of internal team problems, with unnecessary recourse to rumors circulating in the press, this is not professional behavior and it has altered the relationship of trust built over several months of collaboration", says the team that arrived in the World Superbike last year.

"The team will continue to give young pilots their chances, a group policy more in line with the development of the Effenbert brand.".

"The Liberty Racing team, as it has clearly expressed, regrets the choices made by the driver and the technical team and confirms that it will continue to adopt the constructive spirit that has always characterized Liberty Racing".

Finally, "the team would like to wish its best wishes to Sylvain Guintoli and the entire technical team for their respective careers". Really ?!
