Carlos Checa will start from pole position again tomorrow at Assen! Ducati n ° 7 is followed by another 1098R: n ° 96 from Jakub Smrz. Next comes Eugene Laverty’s R1 and Noriyuki Haga’s RSV4 Factory – but not official -.

Smrz, Laverty, Corser, Rea, Haga … There were many contenders for Pole Position, but the ruthless Checa was still faster than them by completing the legendary circuit of the Netherlands in 1 ‘35.292! The Spanish rider continues his clear course: after his poles at Phillip Island and Donington Park, he will start tomorrow at Assen from first place on the grid.

Jakub Smrz confirms the efficiency of the Ducati by posting the second fastest time of the final phase of Superpole, a quarter of a second behind Carlos’ time. After coming close to a first World Superbike victory three weeks ago in England, the Czech offers himself two great opportunities to make his dream come true..

Behind the two Ducatis are two other Italians: Eugene Laverty‘s R1 – the Japanese one is prepared in workshops located near Monza! – and Noriyuki Haga’s RSV4. These two drivers, very quick since the start of the season, will have to temper their ardor slightly to register the first big points they deserve. !

On the second row are rising serious customers: at their head, the official record holder of the track (1 ‘34.944, which Checa did not beat) Jonathan Rea will try to repeat his double from last year, on the his Team Honda Ten Kate track.

Max Biaggi, relegated to a second behind his former GP colleague, posted his official RSV4 in 6th position, just ahead of Tom Sykes and his Ninja ZX-10R. The "best enemy" of the Roman Emperor completes the second row: Marco Melandri and his Yam ‘were not in the game during Superpole 3, but we can count on them for the two races of tomorrow !

Eliminated during Superpole 2, Leon Camier, Troy Corser, Joan Lascorz and Leon Haslam seize 3rd place. Everyone will hope to do as well as Melandri at Donington: as a reminder, despite his 9th place on the grid, the Italian has climbed the podium twice English European, even winning in the first round !

Still very physically impaired, Sylvain Guintoli took part in the Superpole event but had to abdicate from the 1st phase, qualifying in 15th position behind the only Suzuki Alstare driver Michel Fabrizio and the No. 111 of Team Ten Kate Honda, Ruben Xaus.

Narrowly deviated from the Superpole – within 86 thousandths! -, Maxime Berger will start from 17th place, ahead of Chris Vermeulen, Barry Veneman (replacement of Toseland at BMW Italia) and the two Kawasaki Pedercini of Roberto Rolfo and Mark Aitchison.
