Uncompromising Friday and Saturday at Donington Park, Kenan Sofuoglu transformed his testing during the Supersport race. The triple champion and leader of the championship wins over Jules Cluzel and a certain Kyle Ryde, young driver – hard – to follow…

Supersport Race

Jules Cluzel reacts to the quarter – eighth! – turn when the red lights go out and dive into the first curve ahead of Kenan Sofuoglu, Luke Stapelford, Patrick Jacobsen, Kyle Ryde, Gino Rea, Lorenzo Zanetti, Sam Hornsey, Kyle Smith and Kevin Wahr.

Qualified at the forefront, the pilots invited to this British event have no complex in attacking the leaders of the category, from inside as well as from outside! Thanks to them, the first lap of this Supersport race is particularly lively.

Jules did not waste any time, however, and tried to widen the gap from the 2nd lap! Kenan, on the other hand, is constantly attacked by the young wildcard Kyle Ryde: very very young (17 years old) and very very "wild"! Lorenzo on the second official MV Agusta fights against the two Triumphs of Luke and Sam … The incumbent Kyle Smith falls.

Seized a little cold by our dear "Julo", Sofuoglu had an excellent third lap and climbed back into the aspiration of F3 n ° 16 posted in the lead since the start of the race. Kenan attacks Jules under Melbourne braking and allows Kyle to pass in stride !

A big second behind the three leading men, Lorenzo Zanetti is riding alone. The guest pilots Stapelford and Hornsey were overtaken by the American Jacobsen and threatened by the English Gino Rea. The German Wahr and ninth, the French Lucas Mahias closes the "Top Ten".

In front, Kenan Sofuoglu takes the loose and gives himself a small second ahead of … Jules Cluzel, mounted in second position in the last Goddards hairpin of the 6th lap, in favor of too late braking by Kyle Ryde.

On the 7th lap, Kevin Wahr sped into the lawn with his broken down Honda. In spite of himself, the n ° 19 offered his ninth place to the "Grolandais-deaf-mute" pilot Lucas Mahias! Niki Tuuli and his Yamaha n ° 66 climb into the Top 10.

As the first half of the race draws to a close, Kyle Ryde loses contact with Jules Cluzel who, for his part, stays in Kenan Sofuoglu’s wake! In fourth position, Lorenzo Zanetti places the yellow Yamaha No. 77 of guest Ryde in his viewfinder.

PJ Jacobsen is still in fifth position just ahead of Luke Stapelford and his No.80 Daytona 675. On the second Triumph n ° 94, Sam Hornsey is ahead of the experienced Gino Rea and his CBR600RR n ° 4. Tuuli takes the lead in the merry band of Andy Reid, Lucas Mahias, Aiden Wagner and Roberto Rolfo.

At the start of the 13th lap, Zanetti slips his F3 under Ryde’s R6 and climbs on the podium. Four seconds ahead, Cluzel dreams of doing the same on Sofuoglu and his ZX-6R but the Turkish Ninja does not make the slightest mistake. Jules will have to go get him !

With only four laps remaining, Lucas Mahias returned to the pit and unfortunately ended his race there. Our second representative was fighting for ninth place and big points. He will leave Donington Park without any reward.

Full angle in the long straight double Coppice, the MV Agusta n ° 16 fails to unseat its driver: enough to give goosebumps to our "Coq Supersportif" and to all of his fans! The Frenchie does not lose his focus and goes back to the attack…

With more than six seconds left, the fight for third place continues between Zanetti and the "wild-wildcard" Kyle Ryde who is still aiming for the podium for his very first participation in a World Supersport race! The Briton passes in front of the Italian before starting the penultimate lap…

In front, Kenan Sofuoglu maintains his lead over Jules Cluzel just over a second. The No. 54 is heading for a fourth victory in a row, the 31st of his career. Our n ° 16 follows him for the third time in a row on the podium. The two "bosses" of World Supersport are accompanied by a "Kid" of only 17 years old: Kyle Ryde !

In the championship too, Kenan Sofuoglu drives home the point: the Kawa driver now has a 45 point lead over “our” driver MV Agusta. PJ Jacobsen and Zanetti are respectively 51 and 60 lengths behind the leaders. Their direct pursuers Rea, Wilairot, Smith, Rolfo, Baldolini and Faccani lose big points…
