The big manufacturers will pamper us with numerous brand new models in the coming year. Models already known from last year are also getting some updates, but of a more visual nature. This article focuses on completely newly introduced models. There are new helmets from the manufacturers Arai, Bell, Caberg, HJC, Nolan, Quin, Scorpion, Schuberth, Shoei, Skully and X-Lite.

Arai brings new jet helmet

Arai SZ-R VAS

The new Arai SZ-R VAS will be launched in 2019 with a new visor mechanism. With the help of the so-called “Variable access system” the attachment of the visor has been moved downwards, which should better protect the head in the upper area of the helmet. The ventilation channels on the top of the helmet have also been adopted from the Arai top model RX-7V. The front inner pads are also waterproof. Loudspeakers are planned to be installed inside the helmet. Optionally, the visor can be upgraded with a sun shield. The new SZ-R VAS is available in sizes XS to XXL. Prices start at a whopping 600 euros.

The SZ-R VAS is one of three new helmets from Arai.

Arai Profile-V

The new Profile-V should represent the entry into the world of Arai. The full-face helmet will be available in sizes XS to XXL in 2019. Arai has not yet named a price. This is also the case with Profile-V “Variable access system” for use. Arai equips the newcomer with numerous ventilation elements. A new locking system is used for the visor, which was adapted from the helmets of the Formula 1 drivers. The inner lining is removable and can therefore be cleaned easily. Arai opted for the double-D system for the chin fastener.

Arai Urban-V

Another newcomer is the Arai Urban-V. Unlike the previously presented SZ-R VAS, the open face helmet comes without a visor. Otherwise, the Urban-V has a more classic look. The shape is less aerodynamic than that of the SZ-R VAS. It is available in sizes XS to XXL. The jet helmet is currently not listed on Arai’s German website. In this respect, it is not yet clear whether and when the helmet will come to Germany and how much it could cost in this country.

Bell brings a new full-face helmet with a retro look

Bell Eliminator / Carbon

Bell remains true to its line and is bringing another full-face helmet in a retro look in 2019. Visually is the new one Bell not quite as conspicuous as the popular Bell Bullit. Nevertheless, the Eliminator should also find its fans. The holes on the top of the helmet are particularly noticeable. Incidentally, these can be covered with the help of a plastic part. This should also have the effect that air should be transported into the helmet from behind. Bell opted for the double-D system for the closure. According to the manufacturer, the full-face helmet should weigh around 1,500 grams. It will be available in sizes XS to XXXL. Prices start at around 400 euros. There will also be a carbon version of the helmet, which will cost around 600 euros.

Caberg Tourmax is coming in 2019

New helmets from the Marvel and DC universes

HJC fans can also look forward to some new designs from the Marvel and DC universes. New features include helmets in Batman and Flash designs.

Nolan and X-Lite

Nolan N70-2X and Nolan N70-2GT

Nolan describes the two newcomers as so-called crossover system helmets. The two new Nolan helmets are aimed at touring riders who want to convert their helmet into a jet helmet in just a few simple steps, for example for use in the city. Both helmets are based on the Nolan N43 Air, which is very popular thanks to its modular design. Visually, the X version is more reminiscent of an off-road helmet than the GT.

The new X-903 is also available as a carbon version.

There are also differences between the two helmets in the front area. Nolan equips the X with a removable chin part. The helmet consists of a total of four modules: helmet shell, chin guard, shield and visor. All four components can be freely combined with one another, so that drivers can choose between eight application options. The GT has four different configuration options. A multi-stage adjustable sun visor is on board with both new Nolan helmets. The inner lining is removable. The adjustable neck pad is also removable.

Both new helmets are available in two outer shell sizes. The two newcomers are therefore available in sizes XXS to XXXL. Cost point: between 259.99 euros to 364.99 euros for the Nolan N70-2GT and between 289.99 euros to 389.99 euros for the Nolan N70-2X.

X-Lite X-903 / Ultra Carbon

The new Supertouring helmet X-903 impresses with two innovations: a magnet-assisted visor assembly and a height-adjustable interior – so the fit can be better adapted to your own head shape.
