45,178 readers took part in the MOTORRAD Readers‘Choice 2020. Here we present you the top 10 most popular bikes in the Tourer / Sports Tourer category.

AT.This year, the BMW R 1250 RS cam first in the Tourer / Sport Tourer category. In 2019 the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT took the throne, so the R 1250 RS had to settle for second place. A year earlier (2018) it was the predecessor of the R 1250 RS, the BMW R 1200 RS, that came in first.

New formation in the top 3 tourers

The BMW R 1250 RS in the MOTORRAD Readers’ Choice 2020 was 23.8 percent, while the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT came in second with 19.3 percent. With a little gap, a new addition follows in third place – the Ducati Supersport / S, which received 10.4 percent of the readers’ votes. Third place was won by the BMW R 1200 RT, which won the bronze medal in 2019 and 2018, but its successor, the BMW R 1250 RT, has to settle for fourth place this year.

After third and fourth places were close together, the gap between fifth and sixth was a bit clearer: the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX received 5.5 percent of the votes from MOTORRAD readers, closely followed by the Yamaha FJR 1300 with 5.3 percent approval.

In the places seven to ten there is at least a three before the decimal point. The ranking is as follows: BMW K 1600 GT with 33.6 percent, Honda VFR 800 F with 3.5 percent, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX with 3.5 percent and Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing with 3.3 percent.

Guzzi and Suzuki have to give way

In 2019 the Moto Guzzi California 1400 Touring and the Suzuki GSX-S 1000 F were represented in the top 10 – together in 10th place. The two had to make way for Ducati Supersport in the 2020 MOTORRAD Readers’ Choice in the Tourer / Sport Tourer category, which went straight to third place.
