MV-Agusta Brutale 1090 R 2012

Menus

After the Brutale 920, MV-agusta continues to conquer the general public by once again offering a renowned machine at a more affordable price. The goal: blood; the tool: the large 4-legged 1078 cc; the cavalry: 144 horses galloping unceremoniously. Here is a more muscular traveling companion than the 920 to complete the range.

The price argument always works, especially when the factory offers a Brutale 1090 for 5,000 euros less. Ouhla! What’s the catch!?! There’s no. But by looking closely and paying attention to the surname, we quickly see why the price becomes competitive against the competition. This Brutale is called 1090 R and comes in a more accessible version than the RR version. In short, there is one letter less…. An R which means we removed a bunch of stuff to cut costs.
To begin with, we calm down on the layers of paint and varnish. Then, less costs for the rims. They are in cast aluminum and no longer forged, with the same design as those of the 920. No more LED indicators in the mirrors, radial brake calipers but they are no longer one-piece, and the anti-dribble of the clutch that disappears. The suspensions, on the other hand, have fewer adjustment possibilities..

It’s a fact, MV-Agusta has overlooked a slice of nobility from its biggest streetfighter. But the heart of the steak retains all its taste, especially since the sauce is always so spicy. The engine’s red cylinder head cover is unequivocal: it’s the fire in there. 144 donkeys distributed MV style, it calms people and it tightens your spine. Just to not get lost in the scenery right away, the 1090 R retains 8-level traction control.
Apart from the suspension setting, the chassis remains identical to the RR, i.e. a trellis frame attached to aluminum plates, a 50 mm Marzocchi inverted fork, a Sachs mono-shock, and the superb as well as the eternal single-sided swingarm.
In order to differentiate itself from this brother, the RR receives a big update and claims 14 more horsepower than the R.
