NCR Millona 16 2010

There are those for whom the extreme is not enough – this is the case of the Italian tuner NCR, who presents this surreal M16 (for Millona 16), cousin of the exceptional Ducati Desmosedici RR. The latter, I remind you, is nothing less than an authentic MotoGP homologated for the road, with the same engine and the same chassis as the machine which evolved in the most prestigious world championship at the time of the 1000 CC. A 200-horsepower V4 crankshaft and a racing chassis, the dream.

The NCR workshops said to themselves, “Well, we’re gonna do better! But different ”. So they took a Desmosedici and gave her a slimming treatment. Design ? Much more minimalist, thinner, almost cafe-racer. Stripped of its lower fairing, with an incredibly thin butt-tail, the M16 has the profile of a cheetah. It almost looks like the Desmosedici has partly merged with a first generation SVS 650, so light has its silhouette become. And it’s not just visual. The advertised weight of this machine is simply incredible: 145 kg. Unheard of on a machine of this caliber. It’s even lighter than a MotoGP which cannot drop below 150 kg. And to think that there are now 200 horsepower at the rear wheel (10% more minimum in the vilo).

The V4 needed to be even more capable and NCR gave it more power. He now develops almost the power of a Superbike machine. But the most astonishing thing is the frame preparation: goldsmith’s work. NCR has cleared the framework altogether to implement one of its own making. It is now a carbon monocoque frame that encloses the Italian boiler. Frankly, hats off. As long as you’re working on dark fiber, you might as well let go! The in-house swingarm, wheels, half fairing, tank, and ride-on seat were all made of carbon by NCR – I won’t even explain how much weight you gain. On the other hand, the whole is going to be so rigid…. will the motorcycle still be controllable as the chassis reacts quickly ?

NCR Millona 16 2010For the suspension, suede (as always in the high end) was requisitioned. The fork is an inverted Ohlins pressurized FGR 000, a model from MotoGP and SBK, successor to the famous FGR 900. It is stiffer and lighter, and of course adjustable in all directions. The rear shock is also an Ohlins, a TTX which is quite simply the top. Brembo took care of the braking, with 4-piston titanium monobloc radial calipers and carbon discs. Better is … … well, there is nothing better !

If you still need a little to knock yourself out, know that the exhaust line, the rear plates, the fuel cap, the half-handlebars, the triple clamp, the steering column and the screws are fully in place. titanium, that the on-board electronics are 100% NCR, with wiring derived from the competition. The on-board functions could be traction control, telemetry with data acquisition, management of several maps, etc. Will be able? Why talk about the future? Because the NCR Millona 16 will only be built to order. This means that the client will be able to allow themselves even more delirium. But for what price? I left you an estimate, but I tell you that all delusions can be allowed in the face of such a machine.
