No detail has leaked out concerning this new motorcycle: MV Agusta has developed it discreetly, without announcing it or being "surprised" more or less complacently by the – necessarily – indiscreet objectives of the motorcycle press. Which tends to suggest that the brand wants to surprise with this Turismo Veloce 800 whose name suggests that it will borrow the 798 cc in-line three-cylinder common to and .
The current range already includes a bunch of sport bikes and equally muscular roadsters – 3 or 4-cylinder – we can already rule out these tracks without risk of being wrong. The same goes for the "maxi-supermotard" segment, since MV Agusta will soon occupy the field with the that MNC will test very soon (stay tuned!).
Logically, it is therefore on the side of the category of road motorcycles that the brand of Varese has decided to turn, a conclusion reinforced by the use of the word "Turismo" (tourism, in French). The use of "Veloce" (fast) suggests that this new bike will have a dynamic temperament, even sporty when the desire arises. Which leads to a mid-size Sport-GT, a segment left in disuse by most manufacturers with the exception of the valiant VFR800 VTEC or the F800GT (read our).
A sport-GT or … a trail-GT ?
Unless MV Agusta chooses another path, more "bankable" at present: that of trails-GT! According to our information, the transalpine manufacturer is indeed working hard on a trail inspired by the success of the "close neighbor". Namely a trail-road sporting character that gives pride of place to sensations and on-board electronics.
Either a motorcycle both "Turismo" and "Veloce" (CQFD!), Which would directly overshadow the Triumph Tiger 800 and BMW F800 GS – or even why not with larger displacement given the performance of the Tre Pistoni! More answers in Milan: stay tuned !
