For months with the motorcycles through South America – it was not planned that way. Mainly because one of the two travelers first had to get a driver’s license.

Episode # 04 – Unplanned motorcycle trip through South America

When Lisa Berg and Katharina Teut (both 31) arrived in Cuba in January 2019, they had no idea of ‚Äč‚Äčending their South America trip on motorcycles many months later. But on the way they met other motorcycle travelers and slowly a crazy idea turned into a longing and a plan. After overcoming all obstacles, including theory and sweaty driving lessons in a Colombian city, the South American trip turned into an adventurous motorcycle tour with many ups and a few lows. In an exciting conversation with the MOTORRAD podcasters Dina Dervisevic and Ferdinand Heinrich-Steige, the two tell their story, which could hardly be a bigger plea for traveling on a motorcycle. The decisive factor is never the preparation, but the driving off.

About the podcast series MOTORRAD driver:

The focus is on topics and questions that concern women who ride motorcycles, which motorbikes they ride and what they experience with them. It’s not about demarcation. It’s about getting the riders out there involved. In addition to the usual motorcycle topics, which are just as interesting for women as they are for men, in our experience female pilots talk even more frequently about the maneuverability of mopeds and about seat height and width as well as difficulty or ease of movement of the clutch. And there are countless other motorcycle topics that are worth looking at from the female point of view, reporting and talking about them. Just listen to it and tell us what you think.
