The 700 units concerned – out of the – are those manufactured between June 1 and September 15, 2013.

Regarding the tank, its design in two parts (main tank and additional tank for a range close to 300 km) presents "the risk of leakage when the full is done", specifies Peugeot while for the steering lever, "the characteristics of its material have been modified so as to be able to absorb violent shocks such as sidewalks at (too) high speed, for example ".

"We did not wish to launch a recall campaign until we were sure of the solutions proposed and over a sufficiently representative period", specifies Peugeot, whose Metropolis are "already equipped since August 28 with the new lever. management and since September 16 of the new tank ".

On the occasion of this recall, Peugeot will also make improvements on the following items:

  • Trunk opening sensor (controlling the trunk light)
  • Expansion vessel access hatch
  • Updating the injection computer
  • Update of the dashboard software (autonomy calculation)
  • Update of the smart key calculator software (reduction of electricity consumption)
  • Replacing the lower case screws
