Update on Moto Morini

Unsurprisingly, Moto Morini prices continued to increase steadily, in line with those observed. Compared to last year, the increases are downright summits: + € 2,950 for the GranPasso trail (€ 20,190 in July 2016 against € 17,240 in January 2015!), + € 2,780 for the sulphurous Corsaro Veloce 1200 (18 € 990 against € 16,210), + € 2,510 for the 11 1/2 roadster (€ 13,990 against € 11,480) and + € 2,290 for the Scrambler (€ 15,690 against € 13,400)! Mamma mia !

The opportunity to introduce a 2016 novelty in France: the Granpasso R, unveiled – discreetly – by Moto Morini at the beginning of spring.

This newcomer has exactly the same attributes as the basic Granpasso (tubular trellis frame, supercharged 1200 cc v-twin) but intends to be more accessible thanks to its 17-inch stick rims, its saddle lowered by 32 mm. and especially its 700 euros less on the label: € 19,490.

We also note the disappearance of the strange roadster, whose original plastic or the electrically adjustable seat shell (!) Have obviously not convinced the bikers. At the same time, at € 25,000 a piece…

Norton update

Back to business with the sculptural, the iconic English manufacturer Norton continues its development with a second motorcycle: the Dominator, a Cafe Racer built on the same platform, a vertical twin-cylinder "house" of 80 hp and a tubular frame evoking the famous "Featherbeds" from the heyday of Norton and his cult Manx (titled in GP500 with Geoff Duke in 1951).

These two motorcycles are available in several special versions, available in very small quantities: 50 units only for the superb DomiRacer and its "home made" aluminum tank and 200 for the Dominator SS.

Hand-assembled in the new – – Norton factory, right next to the Donington Park circuit, both the Commando and the Dominator receive only top-of-the-range peripherals and noble materials: Brembo radial calipers, cut aluminum and carbon.

Obviously, the prices are affected with a first price at 19,990 € for the Commando Sport and up to 41,990 € for the limited edition of the Dominator! These amounts are all the more "salty" as they do not include the costs of transport and cash (+ € 497), start-up (+ € 267) and registration (+ € 295), i.e. some 1059 additional euros on the addition of each model ! 

In addition, as Paradise Motorcycles specifies, Norton motorcycles are only available on order, as is often the case for this type of quasi-artisanal production.. 

"Norton vehicles are high-tech products manufactured in small series and / or on special order, the production of which is linked to the order from the manufacturer of a certain number of products, subject to their approval", recalls the French importer on its . 

"The organization of the manufacturer’s production and homologation procedures can cause significant delays accepted by the customer with the resulting consequences in terms of delivery and price": lovers of beautiful English are warned !
