The State has launched a call for tenders aimed at renewing the management agreement for the Carole circuit, which should lead to the appointment of a new manager on January 1, 2012 (for 5 years). The Ile-de-France Regional Council also voted on Thursday the subsidy to complete the budget of the Paris circuit, in collaboration with the State and the department.

The State, the Ile-de-France region and the department of Seine-SaintDenis (93) will therefore participate in the rehabilitation (estimated at 2 million euros) of the Parisian circuit, the future of which did not necessarily appear insured last year at the same time (read in particular).

According to the terms of the call for tenders, the delegatee "will be remunerated directly from the users of the circuit for which it operates as well as by ancillary revenue", and will pay to the State "a royalty comprising a fixed part and a variable portion corresponding to a percentage of turnover ".

Social role

The missions of the delegatee

  • Circuit management
  • Maintenance of works and service equipment in good working order in order to ensure the quality and continuity of services
  • Operation, by the delegatee, at his own risk, of the delegated service
  • Development of the notoriety of the circuit

"By 2016 or 2017, a new circuit (Carole 2) could see the light of day and replace our old social circuit", indicates today the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC) which is monitoring the case closely. "It is the solidarity of the bikers that allowed the creation of the Carole circuit and it is this same solidarity that has just saved it. Any purely mercantile behavior towards it would be immediately rejected and firmly condemned by this same spirit of solidarity", recalls the FFMC.

The bikers’ defense association affirms that it will be "very attentive to the appointment of this future manager" and reminds that "for more than 30 years, the circuit has hosted free or at low cost (depending on the day and weekend) all bikers. His social role must obviously continue in the years to come. This future manager must therefore scrupulously respect the specifications established by the State in this sense … and the FFMC will see to it! "
