The aluminum double loop frame has been completely redrawn.

The completely new aluminum double loop frame of the Yamaha YZ 250 F has a revision of the upper reinforcement, the rear frame profiles, the swing arm pivot point and a completely new engine mount. This improves the center of gravity and increases the rigidity on the lateral, horizontal and vertical axes. The redesign of the add-on parts and the ergonomics should ensure a lighter and more compact driving experience. The Kayaba spring elements have also been refreshed. The new new air-oil-separated telescopic fork has a larger diameter, the rear suspension strut has become lighter and has an improved damping setting. The Excel rims received a new cross-sectional profile and more stable wheel rims.

Networked wirelessly

Motor settings can be changed using a smartphone app.

The wireless, smartphone-based engine tuning system is an absolute world first in a production motorcycle. The Yamaha Power Tuner app should make it easy to select the exact performance profile for optimal racing results on every racetrack.

The communication control unit (CCU) provides a wireless connection between the motorcycle and the smartphone, via which the fuel / air mixture and the ignition timing map can be set and the engine output adjusted. In addition, it can be used to record race log information and monitor a range of data such as coolant temperature, intake air temperature, air pressure, battery state of charge and also maintenance-related data such as total operating time and more.
