The Spanish brand is looking for a revival and could well relaunch with a new shock duo in 125 cm3. The Strada for driving, the Century for showing off. It is the latter that interests us, brave on its side, mischievous and vagabond little scrambler. With standing, as if the mixture of studded tires and precious silhouette encouraged you to go into the forest with Westons.

This silhouette, precisely – does it remind you of anything?!? Keep your eye on the Mediterranean, forget about Spain and turn your gaze to Italy. You see FB Mondial, you dig into radius 125, and crac, you come across the fake twin of the Century, who is none other than the Hipster.
Indeed, the Rieju takes a lot of elements from it, including the 15 horsepower 4-stroke single-cylinder engine, the tubular steel frame, the 40 mm inverted fork, the spoked rims, the wave-format brake discs, up to ‘to the footplates. But a real effort has been made on the look so that everyone is hunting on their own land. A more vintage tank, some metal parts traded for plastic, a higher handlebar, a belly pan more desirous of functionality than looks, lower exhausts and less flashy elements make it a machine more discreet but not devoid of charm. The price is affected, the 125 Catalane being placed at a much lower price.

Rieju Century 125 2019 Displaying a neo-retro side strongly influenced by fashion, the Century 125 will come across models of the same pseudo-nostalgia with a low-cost positioning that hits the mark. To its credit, the Rieju offers a much more modern and swift engine block than this competition with claims much more limited by their mechanics. We can only be congratulated, the offer in 125 expanding with multiple faces and almost as many leitmotifs.

The Century 125 is presented as a descendant of the Rieju 175 from the 1950s. We will see her especially as a little smirk, who understood that it was useless to go too closely to provoke the KTM 125 Duke or Yamaha MT-125 (to name a few). No, asserting a difference and playing it trendy will be more judicious than going for the fight. And then, she has a sister who has already marked the ground, so to speak. The Spanish play it a little more shock when the Italian is a tad more chic. The two go out in the evening, one to a ball, the other to a nightclub … to end up in the same state and under the same kind of arms at the end.
