Road rallies - 44th Beaujolais Rally: Manoel Delaval above the crowd! - Difficult recognition!

Brilliant winner of this 4th round of the 2009 French Rally Championship, Delaval strengthens his lead over Maximus: the Buell XB 12 Central Team driver left nothing but crumbs to his pursuers by winning most of the specials. !

Difficult recognition !

The small town of Blace (69) once again welcomed the caravan of the French rally championship this weekend. And the 44th edition of the Beaujolais Rally went just as perfectly as in previous years !

Despite the more than doubtful weather a few days before, the participants were able to benefit from a persistent sun and appreciate the superb route of the rally crisscrossing the mountains and valleys of the Beaujolais slopes..

Here, the pilot park is spread over the whole village, because the mayor and the residents love the rally and are very understanding! For its part, the Team Site occupied a good part of a small parking lot next to the church: again thank you to the priest for allowing us to supply ourselves with electricity from the sacristy. !

But despite the proximity of the Maison du Bon Dieu, a hard blow to the Team: the absence of Pierre "Moon" Mouneu for imperative professional reasons! The 2RTeam / Site structure having made a commitment to its partners to run three pilots, it is quickly necessary to deal with the unexpected: it is Michael Pefaure, the 2008 Mono vice-champion riding his Yamaha 450 WR, who is designated as "replacement pilot" of the irreplaceable Moon !

Michael is therefore riding in this event wearing Goldspeed, tires which have thrilled him well given the results obtained! So Michael, future MNC pilot ?

Difficult recos

Between showers and cloudy weather, the sun has a hard time making its way through during reconnaissance … Wet, then drying, then damp and wetting: the slots for good grip are rare and Maxime Mettra makes them fresh ! "On the far right before the change of direction of the Saint-Bonnet special, I lost the front", Maxime told Site:"it lasted a super long time … I felt before leaving, leaving, I had time to tell myself that I was putting one in, and blam, to the pile !"

Maxime Mettra comes out just with a sprained right wrist, but his KTM 950 Superduke is badly crumpled … So in second place in the provisional Topsport (4th Elite) behind Manoel Delaval, Maxime cannot repair in time for the race and forfeit while keeping a smile: there are still two tests to redo !

The weather of these recce days worries many people … The stages are fast, very fast even with that of the Col du Chêne (Le Saule d’Oingt, 1.7 km long). As for the condition of the surface of the Saint-Bonnet special (Le Gay, 3.5 km long) is alarming! The patches of shiny tar are numerous and often in full trajectory … Suffice to say a grip roughly equivalent to that of ice if it ever rained on race day. !
