Let’s go for the French rally championship 2014! Despite strong Corsican resistance and in difficult conditions, Julien Toniutti reiterates his 2013 victory, thus offering his first victory to his new Yamaha MT-09. Story.

And as expected, it’s raining this morning! But that does not discourage the 110 pilots present at the start from setting off towards the small slippery roads of this fourth edition of the Rallye des Garrigues.

Some "newbies" are lining up at the start of this 2014 championship and some regulars are absent, such as number 4, Nicolas Pautet of Team Site, who is moving this year towards pure speed with the objective of participating in the Manx GP on the Isle of Man that he intends to run alongside his friend Julien Toniutti…

An absence that creates a vacuum under the banner of the Journal Moto du Net. But this space is filled by new rallymen recently adopted in the Site family, just as out of the ordinary as our fiery "Crazy" Nicolas Pautet but in a radically different style….

MNC is supporting Denis Grunblatt this year, a disabled sidecar driver firmly determined to climb on a podium! This rallyman, just as passionate as the others (and endowed with remarkable willpower), teamed up with Joachim Bonnard on a Kawasaki ZX12R side. Both (three!) Stick well to the spirit of the Journal Moto du Net rally team! Fifth in the sidecar category in 2013, they want to progress this year by two steps, at least.

MNC has gone for another "extreme" recruit. There, it was necessary to descend deeply in the rankings to find an additional thief: Dominique Quintin, alias "Pierro de la Lune", and his inseparable Honda CB 500 (which changes color every year …).

Dominique is one of the rare rallymen to go as fast on a road as on a special! Finally, at the same speed! This does not prevent him sometimes from having great fears … Too strong this "Pierro de la Lune" !

Fortunately, Julien Toniutti is there to raise the level and thus allow MNC to be present at all levels of the rankings..

Marcus Himself did not come to make up the figures, take pictures and report on this fourth Garrigues rally. He can’t wait to compete with Julien, on equal terms this time! And for good reason: the suspensions of my Yamaha MT-09 "Team Deletang" are prepared with small onions by Jean Marc (Deletang, yes!) Who also took care of that of Julien, filled by the operation (see video).

And then it takes everything to make a world: a Dax takes the start of this fourth rally of the Garrigues! This is Stephane Gueguin, riding a Kyoto Mini Moto !

The headliners line up at the start of the rally under a fine misty rain: it will be cotton on the stages … Especially for number 3, Bruno Schiltz on KTM 690 Duke R who wants to play it "ultra regulatory" and goes on irreproachable road tires of homologation: 160/17 at the rear, rather than "approved rain" 165/17, not recommended on all motorcycles…

A new category is emerging this year: girls! Recognizable in the race by their pink number plates, a handful of gentes ladies and young ladies set off in pursuit of the title of French rally champion, category "Women" !

Attention machos: a young lady, it can send a lot … Sonia Barbot from Team des Galinettes at the start (photo) will finish 4th in the Topsport category behind the first three guys in the category, riding her Suzuki GSX-R 1000 !
