Advice clothing

The motorcycle market offers a wide variety of enduros and, accordingly, the appropriate functional clothing for the riders.

True to the motto “there is no such thing as bad weather, at most bad clothing”, enduro riders should choose their equipment depending on the intended use. For example, a one-piece leather suit has lost as little on a motocross track as a driver’s shirt with a breastplate on the highway. The accessories market offers suitable driver equipment for every enduro rider, whether off-road freak, road rider or all-rounder.
To illustrate this, MOTORRAD has divided the enduro fraction into four different groups and dressed them according to their ambitions. The equipment shown is of course only a tiny selection from a few manufacturers. A look at the box »Suppliers« on page 137 illustrates this fact. Numerous companies sell and import an impressive variety of enduro clothing from all over the world.
If the enduro rider drives both on the road and off-road, the different requirements are the problem when dressing up. The driver’s equipment must provide adequate protection on asphalt and at the same time ensure comfort and freedom of movement in sweaty terrain. In addition, the requirements for protectors off the road are completely different. More on this topic in the box “Security” on page 137.
One of the greatest advantages of textile enduro clothing over leather is, in addition to significantly higher breathability ?? which add additional ventilation zips to some jackets ?? easy cleaning. A circumstance that meets angry enduro riders in the dirt? the washing machine will fix it again. Only remove foam and hard protectors from pants and jackets beforehand.

Crosser

Cross-country athlete who only digs through the dirt on closed-off terrain and on cross-routes.

The outfit of the extremists among off-road drivers consists of airy, colorful and not entirely cheap individual parts. High-quality replica cross helmets or helmets with individual airbrush motifs are preferred as head protection. Shirt and pants are from one of the numerous well-known suppliers and of course in color matched to the motorcycle. The shirt is cut loose so that breastplates and elbow pads can fit underneath. The pants should be closer, but leave enough space for knee pads or orthotics. Large plastic parts reduce the mobility of the boots, but improve the protective effect. security

In addition to helmet, gloves and boots, guards and protectors are part of the enduro epuipement.

Where wood is chopped, splinters must fall. This is especially true for off-road driving. In the field, falls are the order of the day. Fortunately, these are usually very light, as the speeds are far below those on the road ?? This is not the only reason why the requirements for protective clothing and protectors for enduro riders differ from those on the road. Stones, rocks and roots can lead to bruises or, in the worst case, broken bones even if you fall over harmlessly. Hard shell protectors offer the puncture protection required by railing knights. While crossers opt for well-ventilated breastplates, tailor-made knee braces and elbow protectors, enduro riders choose complete protector shirts and knee protectors such as those available in specialist shops. Travel tourist

Drives 99 percent of the time on paved roads and rarely gets lost in easy terrain.

They make up the lion’s share of enduro riders and are undoubtedly one of the kilometer eaters par excellence. For their long stages, the riders need a mix of functional, comfortable clothing. At the top is usually a flip-up or full-face helmet with a visor. The outerwear consists of a waterproof touring jacket with integrated hard shell protectors, complemented by hard-wearing and abrasion-resistant leather dungarees. Waterproof gloves made of a leather-Kevlar-Cordura mix, if possible with warming and removable inner gloves, are just as much a part of the basic equipment of the travel endurist as waterproof, stable touring boots. Occasional enduro rider

He mostly drives on the road and occasionally romps off-road.

Those who spend most of their time on paved roads with their Enduro and are looking for comfortable clothing suitable for everyday use are well served with two-piece rider suits made of nylon or Cordura. These textile suits are expediently equipped with windproof and waterproof membranes so that the enduro rider neither freezes nor gets wet. Full-face enduro-style helmets with a peak and integrated visor are suitable as head protection. these can be easily dismantled and exchanged for cross goggles if necessary. The hands are in moderate enduro gloves with leather trim and knuckle protection. The boots should be made of sturdy leather and have a strong sole and a high shaft with shin protection. Endurance sports enthusiast

Sporty, ambitious enduro rider who is often on the road.

The radius of action of a sports tourist is worlds larger than that of a crosser who only moves on narrowly defined terrain. That is why they need sturdy jackets with pockets for all kinds of small items. Ventilation zips or detachable sleeves ensure sufficient cooling even in midsummer. Pants and gloves correspond to the Crosser equipment. The endurance sports enthusiast wears glasses without roll-offs with the mid-range cross helmet. The boots are also less extreme: the sports enthusiast foregoing too much plastic in the ankle area in favor of greater mobility. After all, the true enduro rider also walks a few meters every now and then.
