Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are increasingly relying on engines with more displacement and more cylinders to catch up with competitors from Japan and Europe. Patent drawings of an 800 series four-cylinder have now surfaced.

JFor decades, the Chinese two-wheeler manufacturers relied on small-volume single- and two-cylinder engines, which were often license production of old Japanese units. Production was carried out by a manufacturer, the engines were then installed in countless models of various brands.

Looks like a Honda plagiarism

One of these engine manufacturers is Wuyi Weisenke Power Technology. With the VSK800, they are currently developing a modern-looking inline four-cylinder that could serve in various mid-range models from Chinese brands. Patent office images that have now emerged reveal the first details. Even if Wuyi Weisenke Power Technology claims to have developed the liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder completely in-house, the shape of the housing and the arrangement of the auxiliary units suggest that the Chinese had the four-cylinder from the Honda CB650R in mind.
