We are never at the end of surprises with bikes. Take the new Suzuki 1050 V-Strom. Not even on sale yet, a price not established for France … and already a special series is emerging. Not for everyone, not for us: the Sakigake edition is a proposal from Italy, with some peculiarities.
Let’s not get carried away too much, we are more in the com ‘than in the exception. The Sakigake is simply the new big V-Strom XT equipped with a top-case of 38 liters and a set of suitcases of 37 liters each. Each element is trekking-type, made with 1.5 mm thick aluminum panels. The more specific identity of this limited series is shown with a red ideogram placed on the valoshes. In order to confirm the vocation of this bike, and to give a little boost to its image. Once dressed, it’s true that it makes you want to go a little further than the forest of mousetraps..
The V-Strom 1050 XT Sakigate cannot be obtained by pushing the store door. You must first reserve one of the 10 copies via the dedicated website on the internet, by selecting the dealer of your choice. After seeing a deposit of 500 euros paid, the dealer will contact the interested party to finalize the purchase. Then more than to pay the invoice of 15 890 euros and wait … the small bonus of these 10 units: they will be the first 1050 V-Strom to run on the Italian market.
But what does “Sakigake” mean? You can’t really translate it; it would be more appropriate to see in it a symbolism, an idea, a concept, rather than a literal word. Sakigake expresses the notion of a pioneer, of the one who takes the first step forward. The association with this V-Strom may seem pompous but ultimately, it joins the idea of the “First Edition” which go hand in hand with some new products, just to help their launch by doing honor on the equipment.
