Suzuki 750 GSX-R 2000

So why are manufacturers dropping the premier class? It’s simple, and terrible for the 750. The 600 spit more and more horsepower (120 for the R6), and the 1000 become as light as ballerinas (170 kgs for the 900 CBR. From this bitter observation, Suzuki no ‘take care. Creator of the GSX-R myth, the 7 and 1/2 sees itself profoundly revamped to upset everyone. 1st step: diet. The bike melted 13 kgs – 8 were gained on the chassis; 5 on the engine. Engineers have boiled their brains. Lightened parts, new injection, increased compression ratio and … 141 hp at the output! A fabulous herd of cannons to propel a machine that has become lighter than an R6 (the slimmest of the 600s). Thanks to the injection, the boiler is frankly well filled in the low and mid-range for an engine of this displacement. Afterwards, it is a magnificent power which is expressed in a sound of madness until the breaker. Orders like the box are delicious. Agility has also been the subject of a lot of work. The rear tire goes down to 180 and the frame has been shortened to move the engine forward. Wheelbase and swingarm have been lengthened for stability. The bigger fork gets more travel, the shock absorber and brakes have been lightened (like all parts of the bike, in fact). The result: the GSX-R 750 has become the tool for all of the racers on the racetrack. She has twice won the Masterbike organized by the European press. And the amazing thing is, it’s not as exclusive on the road as you might think. Comfort and protection are at the level of a certain Kawa ZX-6R. Only real flaw (of the Suzuki family): the braking (very powerful) which lacks bite.
