Suzuki GSX-R 1000 2004

Menus

Gifted, intractable, almost magical, the GSX-R 1000 has since its birth become the benchmark on the circuit. For 2003, Mr Suzuki has put a little more better in everything: lighter (-2 kg), more powerful (+ 4 hp), new carbon surface treatment on the fork, radial fixing brake calipers… We are no longer very far from MotoGP. The braking of the previous generation was certainly powerful but the bite was lacking – now, the radial calipers put these memories in the closet: bite and efficiency are at the top. The fork now works more efficiently, while providing an additional dose of serenity and riding comfort.

The block has undergone only a few modifications but it is less violent on re-acceleration while being just as strong. The new GSX-R is less brutal and more exploitable but its strength remains demonic. In use, the machine requires very serious piloting skills if we want to use all the cavalry. But for experienced pilots, the tool is indestructible in terms of performance and efficiency. The new electronic management and excellent braking are the main developments of the GSX-R 1000; as well as a new fairing which finally sets it apart from its little sisters 600 and 750. The new tank, thinner at the knees, allows the machine to be better tightened in the rows. Associated with a more tilted attitude on the front and a column angle reduced from 24 to 23.5 °, the beast is even more maneuverable … faster, more powerful, lighter, better braking … eh oh, there are some left for the competition ?
