Suzuki SV 650 N 2003

The little Suzuki twin already had a hell of a temper … it only has more on this 2003 version of the SV. Still as lively and even slightly more powerful, it offers a good rev range and provides imperial traction to get out of curves with speed. Braking is still just as effective from the front but the rear has become much more disappointing. Neutral and precise steering, hourglass figure, featherweight and reduced size make this toy a devilish tool. The chassis is announced more rigid, as well as the suspensions which claim to be more efficient; but once in combat on our “happy” roads, the new one does not play better than the old one, its suspensions still lacking in efficiency. Even more flexible and docile thanks to the injection, the twin allows you to walk, something that the rest of the machine seems to have forgotten: the fork springs are harder, the saddle less thick and soft and the legs more bent. In short, in terms of comfort, the old one was more user-friendly. Easy to take and very playful, the SV is however a jealous companion who reluctantly tolerates a passenger: the folding seat version slice of bread is a cause of divorce. The design has become more aggressive and succumbs to the “edge design”, with large reinforcements of edges and sharp angles, which contrasts singularly with the organic shapes of the previous generation. This is a matter of taste – but the mill is a matter of the heart !
