Suzuki SVS 650 2004

The first version of the SVS 650 hit the mark. facing the armada of 4-cylinder 600 roadsters (Fazer, Hornet, bandit, etc …), Suzuki launches a small lightweight sports car powered by a brilliant twin. Less powerful than its competitors – the twin gives them 20 hp – the SVS is however more lively, more efficient and easier. A real sports school. And the new version is even sweeter. Since 2003, the SVS has been adorned with a new frame, a new aesthetic modeled on the 1000 (only one less pot and a belly pan make it possible to differentiate them), and the engine gains horsepower. Its new size gives the illusion of riding a larger displacement. The saddle-rest_pieds-guidon triangle is modified and the machine is less easy to maneuver at low speed. This makes it possible to become more integral with the machine. The larger tank (1 L) is more refined at the level of the thighs.

Already supple before, the twin wins again with its double butterfly injection (scheme of the GSX-R 1000) and its revivals are more muscular. The windmill breathes with joy has a better extension … and the old one was already impressive for this type of engine. The bi resumes from 3000 trs to get seriously excited from 7 to 9000 trs. A delight ! suzuki has finally offered its little moth a fork worthy of its potential. New springs provide satability on imperfect roads. The SVS enters curves more naturally and gradually, helped by more efficient tires than the old Metzeler. Apart from the design which is a matter of taste, what can we fault the new SVS? Consumption on the rise, perhaps … certainly no longer the ejectable folding seat reserved for the passenger. But overall, Hamamatsu’s little ringworm has become more potent, holds up better, protects better and … what are you waiting for to try it? ?
