Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone is still on the move, which has just refreshed its 2014 range of road, track and all-terrain motorcycle tires with three new models (V02, X30 and X40) and two upgrades (S20 Evo and R10 Evo).

Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone is still on the move, which has just refreshed its 2014 range of road, track and all-terrain motorcycle tires with three new models (V02, X30 and X40) and two evolutions (S20 Evo and R10 Evo).

S20 Evo sport-road tire

Regarding the S20 Evo sport-road tire, the changes are mainly aimed at improving the life of the rear. The sole supplier of MotoGP announces a gain in longevity of around "22%" compared to its predecessor, .

This result is based in particular on the use of new compounds in the construction of the rubber, which would reduce the rolling resistance..

Direct consequence: less friction = better lifespan. Stability would also take a leap forward thanks to a new, stiffer belt on the front casing..

The Battlax Hypersport S20 Evo tire will be available in Q2 2014 in 120/70/17 front and in 180/55/17, 190/50/17, 190/55/17 and 200/55/17 in back.

Hypesport tire R10 Evo

Recommended for even sportier use, the R10 Evo tire would offer a surface in contact with the ground "10% greater" than the R10 "simply" at the level of the front axle..

This improvement would again be obtained thanks to new gum compounds.

Bridgestone also promises "longer life and better performance than its predecessor".

This first evolution of the Battlax Racing R10 is currently only available in sizes 120/70/17 at the front and in 180/55/17 at the rear..

V02 track tire

Designed only for use on the circuit – not approved on the road, therefore – the Battlax Racing V02 is a slick tire (without notches) directly inspired by the tires used in MotoGP.

According to Brigestone, this soft rubber tire would allow lap times "one second faster per lap" compared to the V01 which it succeeds..

The V02 will be available from the first quarter in sizes ranging from 90 at the front – in order to fit Moto3 type racing bikes – to 200 at the rear to suit the needs of certain Superbikes..

X30 and X40 cross tires

Replacing the M403 and M603, the new Battlecross X30 (for mixed floors) and X40 (for hard floors) use treads made up of molded blocks asymmetrically at the front and convex at the rear..

According to the Japanese manufacturer (holder of 46 podiums since 2005 in the American, Japanese and world cross country championships), these two new tires offer "improved acceleration, handling in curves and lap times".

Battlecross X30 and X40 will be available from Q2 2014 in the sizes listed below.

Contacted by MNC, Bridgestone France does not wish to communicate on the price of these five novelties and boot in touch: "we do not communicate prices, these are free", answers the French subsidiary by referring to the observable differences according to the retained margins, in particular.
