Dunlop tires on Moto3 and Moto2 "at least three years older"

Tire manufacturer Dunlop will remain the exclusive supplier of Moto3 and Moto2 Grand Prix motorcycles until 2023, "at least" specifies the British brand which belongs to the American group Goodyear. Explanations.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with Dorna Sports (editor’s note) so as to remain the exclusive supplier of tires in Moto2 and Moto3 for at least three more years", rejoices the senior manager of Dunlop Motorcycle Europe.

“Both categories are an integral part of Dunlop Motorsport’s business and allow us new technologies for both the track and the road,” says Ben Hoge. "Dorna Sports has an excellent platform to detect and support the stars of tomorrow and we are delighted to be able to continue to contribute to all of this".

A long-standing partner of the Grands Prix, has been equipping the Moto3 and Moto2 since these 4-stroke prototypes replaced the old 125 cc and 250 cc 2-stroke, in 2012 and 2010 respectively. The tire manufacturer has successfully adapted to this change, just like the switch from Honda 4-cylinder to Triumph "3-legged" in the intermediate category last year.

Besides his commitment to the world sprint championship, Dunlop is also heavily involved in world endurance (EWC) and the Tourist Trophy, with no less than "18 records" in the TT! The first tire to cross the 100 miles per hour (162 km / h) mark in 1969 was for example a Dunlop.
