New for 2010, the Michelin Power Pure motorcycle tire is the latest addition to the “Hypersport-road” range from the Clermont-Ferrand manufacturer. Taking up the latest advances of the brand on the mixture of natural and synthetic components used for the development of versatile and high-performance casings, the Power Pure also adopts Michelin bigomme 2 CT technology to provide maximum grip on the shoulders while maintaining correct tread life.

But the real technological advance distinguishing this new tire from the efficient Pilot Power 2 CT or the very sporty Power One (read our) is called Michelin LLT (Light Tire Technology): thanks to the integration of light materials such as Kevlar used in aerospace, a Power Pure train in 120/70/17 and 190/70/17 would display one kilogram less on the scale, according to Michelin, against its direct competitors (Bridgestone BT-016, Dunlop Qualifier 2, Metzeler Sportec 3, Pirelli Diablo Rosso).

According to the French manufacturer, this weight gain on the unsprung masses (the parts of a motorcycle not benefiting from the work of the suspensions) would allow the Power Pure to reduce the inertia in curves by 10% compared to this same competition..

Still according to Michelin, "thanks to the gyroscopic effect, saving 1 kg on the tires is like saving 3 kg on the wheels or 4 kg on the brake discs". Although all the technical details of this new tire have not yet been revealed, the engineers at Clermont-Ferrand want to reassure potential buyers: the Power Pure does not "grip" on the amount of rubber to display its weight content, since the height to be used remains similar to that of the rest of the range !

The Power Pure is available in the most common sizes (120/60/17, 120/70/17 front and 160/60/17, 180/55/17, 190/50/17, 190/55 / 17). More information and prices to come soon: stay connected !
