This "new" Metzeler Z8 Interact receives new plasticizers and silica compounds of "last generation", as well as new resins and synthetic polymers which perform better than its predecessor. Thanks to this new composition, the Z8 Interact would offer a higher level of grip over a wider temperature range (from 4 to 35 ° C according to Metzeler).

The composition of the front tire also varies and now uses a higher proportion of silica to improve its warm-up time and grip on dry ground..

Unlike the front which remains "mono-rubber", the rear is now covered with two different types of rubber, for more grip on the angle and longevity on the tread.

Finally, the different tensions applied to the steel strands of the belt at 0 ° have been revised to adapt to the changes made to the rubber: from now on, the tension is for example lower in the center of the tire to increase the tire zone. contact.

Thanks to these improvements, the Roadtec Z8 Interact would henceforth be neither more nor less than the "new standard of the sector in terms of safety and performance in the wet", welcomes Metzeler, which is based on the results of a comparison conducted by German testing agency Motorrad TestCenter.

According to Motorrad TestCenter, the German tire would outperform the Michelin Pilot Road 3, the Bridgestone Battlax BT 023, the Continental Road Attack2 and the Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart II in wet conditions..

Metzeler specifies that the new versions of its Roadtec Z8 Interact (named "M" and "O") "are 100% compatible with its predecessor". This means that it is possible to fit a "new" Z8 Interact at the rear and keep the old version of the Z8 at the front, and vice versa..
